California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger Sunday said "we will ... maybe undo" a measure passed by voters Tuesday stripping same-sex couples of the right to marry.

Maybe?

I love politicians that speak their minds.

Looks like the ‘Terminator’ is trying to kill democracy.
He is a LEFTIST....and leftists ignore the will and votes of the people and push (by force if necessary) their agenda
upon the populace. The Voters said “Yes” on 8, we do NOT want
to extend marriage rights to same-sex couples. To overturn that is anarchy and rebellion. Arnold is a FOOL!

Undo the will of the people. Yes, that is what our founders wanted for this country—rule by the courts.

At some point, probably sooner than later, people will stop bothering to vote. What's the point?

He will have the gay vote for his senate run. The only question is whether he will caucus with the dems or the pubbies.

“There are those who believe that a new modernity demands a new morality. What they fail to consider is the harsh reality that there is no such thing as a new morality. But we have to elect [RINO]! Only he can win. Do you want [Democrat] to win? Sometimes the cure is worse than the sickness.

At the time back in 2003, he talked a good game. After he was elected, in the absence of principles, Arnold moved where the political winds took him - to the Left. When I still lived in California, I did not vote to re-elect him. It was the first time I ever stayed home on Election Day. His Democrat opponent but even worse but I couldn't for a leftist socialist. He's revealed his true colors in opposing traditional values and in advising his party to ditch ideology and get on with the program. After all, its the wave of the future!

California sales tax is currently 7.25%. An addition of 1.5% would make it 8.75%.

You have to add county sales taxes to that state total. In Los Angeles County, add 1%, and another 0.5% that the idiot voters just approved last week to fix potholes and synchronize the streetlights!

So the total for L.A. County would be 10.25%, the highest in the nation.

Who were the idiots in the RNC that backed this uber-liberal RINO?

Bush, Karl Rove, and Gerald Parsky, the guy they imposed on the California Republican Party to "fix" it.

If it hadn't been for those three, Bill Simon would have won the election, and California would have had an excellent governor. But they were furious at Simon for having beaten their earlier candidate, Richard Riordan (another stinking RINO), in the primary. So they refused to back him, and Parsky refused to fund his campaign properly.

Simon lost by only a few percent against Gray Davis--pretty good, considering the press were demonizing him, and a crooked judge kept a bogus charge alive against him, and Parsky refused give him any campaign funds for ads. In fact many of the big Country Club donors gave to Davis instead, probably under Parsky's guidance.

It was one of Rove's worst mistakes.

Wouldn’t it have to be undone through another amendment?

One would think... but that never stops 'em from trying.

Here are some excerpts from the interview:

Arnold: I think it is unfortunate, obviously. But it is not the end. I think this will go back into the courts, this will go back into the Supreme Court because the Supreme Court, very clearly, in California has declared this unconstitutional. It's the same as in the 1948 case when blacks and whites were not allowed to marry--this falls in the same category. So, I think that we will, again, maybe undo that, if the court is willing to do that, and then move forward from there and again lead in that area.

Q: As a Governor, from a policy perspective, are those couples who were married--same sex couples who were already married in California--are they in jeopardy in any way?

Arnold: No, not at all. No. It's just from now on, you know, there is no marriage between a man and a woman (sic). Until again, like I said, until the Supreme Court turns it over or does anything about that.

Hard to "betray" conservatism.....when you were never a conservative.
