California sales tax is currently 7.25%. An addition of 1.5% would make it 8.75%.


You have to add county sales taxes to that state total. In Los Angeles County, add 1%, and another 0.5% that the idiot voters just approved last week to fix potholes and synchronize the streetlights!

So the total for L.A. County would be 10.25%, the highest in the nation.

Nope, we’re already there in Chicago and Cook County IL.

I’m aware of that. I was replying to a post that said he would make the, “California Sales Tax rate = 10.25%”. That is incorrect.

The state sales tax is 7.25%
