Please, not more weenie tactics. This reminds me of when, at the beginning of the war, Bush declared a one-day truce for a Muslim holiday. That’s the day when I think Bin Laden got away.
No wonder we’ve been in Afghanistan and Iraq for so long - if this is an example of our tactics.
That commander should be court marshaled and kicked out of what ever military service he belongs to. Giving away our tactics on world wide television is inexcusable.

Publicize the fact that these fighters are hiding behind civilians, hiding behind women and children, publicize it far and wide, all over the Islamic world.
Demand that they release the hostages.
When they won't, don't let anybody else anywhere near. Just like U.S. police do when someone tries to hide behind hostages.
Since Afghanistan lacks having much of a criminal justice system --- then when it's all over, I guess the hostage takers will need to be summarily executed?
Perhaps better is to round 'em up when they crawl out starving.
Then put them in a prison built to the highest Afghan standards. They'll pretty much starve there, too. Work 'em hard, on a chain gang. Shoot to kill at the first signs of revolt or attempted escape. Hire guards giving them the clear understanding that they themselves will take the place on the chain gang,of any who are allowed to escape.
Just ideas tossed around here...
Whatever it is that we do, we'll need to make the "hiding behind skirts" idea be one with painful ramifications, without harming those that these murderous opportunists hide among.
Stuff like this would take some doing, but it would pay off in the long run.

I say fire on them anyway. If we did more of that, they’d STOP using civilians as human shields.
But if we’re not going to fight full force, let’s also tell them we’re only going to use blanks between the hours of 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
