A Day in the Life of President Bush...11/08/08 and 11/09/08
Various | daisyscarlett

Posted on 11/09/2008 10:00:03 AM PST by daisyscarlett

In his weekly radio address President Bush said, "So my Administration will work hard to ensure that the next President and his team can hit the ground running. For more than a year now, the White House and agencies throughout the Federal government have been preparing for a smooth transition. We've provided intelligence briefings to the President-Elect, and the Department of Justice has approved security clearances for members of his transition staff. In the coming weeks, we will ask Administration officials to brief the Obama team on major ongoing policy issues, ranging from the financial markets to the war in Iraq. I will keep the President-Elect fully informed on important decisions during this critical time for our Nation. Taken together, these measures represent an unprecedented effort to ensure continuity throughout the executive branch.".

the media rely on liberal-socialist academics for evaluations of presidencies. like polls, these are shaped by biases and parameters that don’t give republicans their due.

president george w bush took greater risks than any president since ronald reagan. his father 41 took less risks and bill clinton was almost risk adverse, depending upon the adoration of his constituents.

i can’t help but think that president george w bush, in a fair evaluation, will rank higher than his father 41 and clinton and much higher than jimmy carter.

my personal criticism of president george w bush is that he did not present his agenda to the public, and allowed the leftist media to define him and his presidency negatively.

Let me guess, I’m the little black one and you are my bestest buddy giving me a hug?

My hubby planned a surprise party for me last night. My friend Rich, who I sing with at church, drove me to his house after Mass - supposedly he and his wife were going out to dinner with us. His wife, my hubby, and lots of people with sparklers were standing on their front lawn waiting for us! Really cool! My uncle took some pics. I’ll try to get copies.

How cool! Did you have any clue? My SIL put one together for my brother back in April and he never figured it out at all.

Thanks for the dose ping yesterday dad was unwell so unfortunately I was not on line yesterday.

We had to call the doctor as his stomach has swollen even more than usual and he was in a lot of pain plus we suspected another UTI.

I hate having to call the doctor out over the weekend as his surgery is closed and you have to go through the emergency system which services all surgeries that do not have weekend cover.

You get a telephone call back fairly quickly from a triage nurse who then passes the details on the duty doctor who contacts you by phone and then decides if it something that can be treated by leaving a prescription to be collected or whether a home visit is needed.

The doctor rang us back and decided that a visit was needed rather than just prescribe antibiotics. When they turned up it was the acute pain team (2 doctors), they examined dad and when dad told them he was due to see his specialist on the 20th November decided that it was best to not to admit him to hospital but to prescribe some antibiotics which hopefully will help with the pain etc. He was told to regularly take his normal pain killers.

Today the pain is bad so we have rung his doctor surgery and asked for a home visit. We will resist admission to hospital as both dad and I feel this is not in is best interest but ask the doctor if he can prescribe some stronger pain killers to get him through to the 20th.

Your prayers would be appreciated.
Thanks
Eleanor
