The buyer’s remorse is creeping in, but most Obama voters won’t admit how screwed they were ... at least not for a while.

Boy oh boy, Wallace is really pushing the idea that the country has shifted to “progressives” and that the Pubbies should just become dem-lite.

Pence is not buying it, thankfully, nor is Cantor.

Republicans have suffered money problems since 2006, when we got tired of supporting RINOS. They will continue to suffer money problems until they understand that!

If Obama raised all that money that the media so breathlessly told us about....why then has he formed a NEW non profit to raise money for his transition?

Why not use some of that $600 million?

Where did THAT money go?

I mean, come on! Where's the "change" here?

They don't care. Now they're saying that it's good he has some "experienced" people to advise him. And that those people will help him carry out "hope" and "change." Whatever. Just as long as they get their power and perks back. And if you call his appointments "retreads" or something, then you're not being "nice," you're being "divisive," and you're a racist.

Got it straight from a lib.

Yep, McCain is one reason we cannot think the Republican filibuster will stop bad policy, just like Democrats passed the $700 Billion Bail-Øut over the out-RAGE of the people, and free back-scratchers for Republicans to go along

LOL. I am going to sound awfully "racist" in the coming days.

Ok- listen to Cantor’s last sentence - it may be no big deal (I said later down thread- I may have misheard him) - I just want to know if I heard correctly :) Thanks!

“My two sons voted for Obama and cannot articulate why - no reasons, just feelings..”

If you are in Austin...you know why. Tell your sons about Obama’s plans to draft them into a ‘civilian security force’ and see what they say.

Neither am I but all the media is pushing that we just sit down, shut-up and strive for UNITY. Sorry, they just eliminated Affirmative Action in my mind and politically correct is not in my vocabulary anymore. I now know what goes on in these black churches and our schools. I will not sit down or shut up.

Where we go from here is a real dilema when we appear to be so short of numbers that getting elected dog catcher would be a victory.

McCain was a deeply flawed candidate.

Understatement of the year.

True.

But the fatal flaw and, thus, what must be fixed is the GOP nominating process which allowed our opponents to pick our candidate!

Duh!!

We’ve gotta make inroads with Hispanics. Can’t ignore that electorate. They share traditional values more in common with Republicans, vs. Democrats.

I have heard many Reps spout that nonsense. Unfortunately, the so called "traditional values" are not the reality. Hispanics have the second highest rate of out of wedlock births now at 50%, just behind blacks at 68%. And they have the highest school dropout rates. Many come from socialist countries thus giving them a different view of the role of government. Read this:

Hispanic Family Values? Runaway illegitimacy is creating a new U.S. underclass

A lot of them are legacy Democrats who need to hear more from Republicans. Hey, it worked for Bush!

Yeah Bush got 40% of them, but 60% went for Kerry. And the Amnesty King, John McCain, did even worse. It reminds me of the story about the factory owner who was told he was losing a nickel per widget. He responded, "Well, don't worry, we'll make it up in volume."

Immigrants and minorities vote overwhelmingly for Dems. And by 2023 half of the children 18 and under will be minorities and by 2042 half of the country will be minorities. And by 2050, one in three Americans will be Hispanic, even without an amnesty.

Bureau of the Census: An Older and More Diverse Nation by Midcentury--Minorities, now roughly one-third of the U.S. population, are expected to become the majority in 2042, with the nation projected to be 54 percent minority in 2050. By 2023, minorities will comprise more than half of all children. In 2030, when all of the baby boomers will be 65 and older, nearly one in five U.S. residents is expected to be 65 and older. This age group is projected to increase to 88.5 million in 2050, more than doubling the number in 2008 (38.7 million).

Joe the Plumber’s website:

###

A Message From Joe . . .

Congratulations to Barack Obama. The American electorate has decided that he will be our next president.

As I have stated, I will honor and support my president, but there will be no free ride. When President-Elect Obama takes office in January, his term of service to the American people begins.

We wish our new president blessings of wisdom and good judgment, and we pray he hearkens to our voice if ever we feel our American Dream is being threatened. It will be a loud voice, so good luck trying to ignore it.

I do not believe that McCain was BEHIND the Palin attacks.

However, I am extremely disappointed that he has not spoken out (unless I missed it) to vigorously defend her and condemn the leakes and detractors.

“This election cycle has split our family in a very dangerous way.”

“I hear you. I am dreading our Thanksgiving & Christmas family gatherings.... I’m sure this is true of many American families....so sad :( “

My brother was fooled as well. I call to see how he’s doing, and that’s it. We haven’t been able to discuss politics in a civil manner since he jumped ship.

“Our Founders must be rolling in their graves.
Looking at the squishy republicans left who are trying their hardest to get in the good graces of this new administration, I think it is obvious we have lost far too much to ever get it back without an act of God.”

I do believe in miracles. This is still God’s country.

Yes, Austin, a tiny little blue dot in the middle of big, beautiful red Texas (except for the blue coast). I tried to raise them right but it obviously didn’t take.
