With a hattip 
to Rush ( His idea during the Clinton plague upon America ) I am starting a file on “The One,” mostly starting from the election date.

There is some good material in those posts that raises a lot of uncomfortable questions that everyone ought to be asking, and probably will once the “new” wears off, and we are stuck with four ( more likely eight, since 95% of the news & entertainment media are in his pocket ) years of a typical corrupt Chicago Political Machine Politician trying to jerk the whole country in one direction and then the next.
You've all heard the saying,

...and deserve?”
Well, America, you are about to “get it, good & hard...”
Don't say you weren't warned- we tried to tell you...
We did everything we could, and our state went for the Old Guy & the Naughty Librarian, but too many other voters were made stupid by the TV and public schools for it to matter.
We're in a Hell of a mess, and the worst thing is, "we"- the collective we, not you & I-- got us here.

I was born in Cuba, and know the language of Communism, Obama speaks it well. My grandfather's family had to flee Lebanon because of the Muslims to Cuba. We fled Cuba because of Castro.
This is the best country in the whole wide world. I was a child when I left Cuba with the clothe on my back, we left my parent's sister and I, left behind everything.
America is Worth fighting for and Freedom is worth defending. I do not want my children to grow up in oppression, nor do I wish exile upon them.

No, can't recall any such attempt to literally take over.
We're 3 days after the election and his transition team and the one party media is acting as if he's inaugurated tomorrow.
The great George W. Bush and the graceful First Lady Laura Bush are doing the best they can. Mark my words, in a few months if not years more and more people will remember George W. Bush and refer to him as one of the last great Presidents.
This is so dreadful and predictably low class, it will be a long long 4 years if not longer. I'm glad you're keeping this up and I meant what I said about you being a true journalist. There's a gazillion of one party spokespersons out there identifying themselves as journalists only because of their ids and their paychecks issued from a corporation that calls itself media. They are not journalists in the sense that they would work long hours to investigate and perform their duty of informing the people. They are fighting over a seat at the table at Obamalot and one idiot reporter is being more flattering than the other. Pravda worked exactly like that.
Anyway, whoever said you need to hold a degree from journalism school in order to report on the facts and the truth.

I certainly thank you for the kindly words- regarding the first bolded, I think you're right.
Like many who voted for the man twice, I went through stages of lukewarm support, enthusiast support, and finally “just wish he'd go away,” but...
Big “but.”
But I think shortly most of us will wish he were still in office, due to the imminent Obama Thugocracy”...
Regarding the second bolded, I'm mostly a lurker and linker and quipper on the InterToobs, although I used to write a lot of ad copy and some magazine articles.
I've long noted that two of the finest journalists who ever lived- Mark Twain and H.L. Mencken- practiced their trade long before “journalism degrees” ever came into existence. I've always said anyone of normal intelligence and literacy can be taught how to write a news article-- the fives “W's,” talk to everybody and get their stories, ask rude questions, and summarize at the end. It's not that hard to do.
As long as I have a voice and a place to post this, I will continue.
How long that will be is anyone's guess- I have no doubt that the camp followers of Dear Leader will try to suppress and silence all opposition- just look at their record so far. It will be infinitely worse once he assumes ”rule...”
Like the Chinese say, "may you live in interesting times, and come to the attention of powerful people..."

So says Valerie Jarrett, co-chair of Barack Obama's transition team. Part of Obama's "ruling" will be a quick succession of executive orders, news reports indicate. High on the list will be an order reversing President Bush's order that cleared the way for expanded offshore drilling.

Obama plans to get the US off of imported oil. The way he's starting out, it will end up importing all of its oil. It was Clinton that first locked up drilling and mining in Utah. Utah then took the federal government to court over it. Bush overturned Clinton's executive order, and now Obama wants to reinstate it. However, Utah is away ahead of Obama and are having a big lease sale around Dec 19. Looks like there will be a big show down coming. Utah believes he won't be able to enforce such an order once the leases are sold. |

Transition: President-elect Obama isn't planning to wait for Congress to pass his agenda. On Day One, he plans to rescind Bush executive orders on everything from embryonic stem cell research to offshore drilling.
When minority Republicans seemed to force congressional Democrats to abandon efforts to extend the legislative ban on offshore drilling that expired on Oct. 1, it was considered a pro-drilling victory. In July, President Bush had lifted an 18-year presidential ban on offshore oil drilling. Soon, it was hoped, it would be drill, baby, drill.
The Democrats knew otherwise. They'd run out the clock knowing that a President Obama and a re-elected Democratic Congress would undo this right-wing mischief. As Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., noted at a Sept. 18 press conference: "Nobody's going to be drilling offshore in the next three months."
Judging by statements made by John Podesta, nobody's going to be drilling anywhere domestically for a very long time. On "Fox News Sunday," Obama's transition chief called the federal Bureau of Land Management's plan to open about 360,000 acres of public land in Utah to oil and gas drilling "a mistake."
"They want to have oil and gas drilling in some of the most sensitive, fragile lands in Utah," Podesta said. Expect Obama to rescind that action and reissue the executive order banning offshore drilling in protected waters.

The real trick — and one no politician can ever master — is to create more and more higher paying jobs so that living standards continue rise for everyone. Obama claims he can do this by raising taxes and spending the loot to close his imaginary "investment deficit." This is Keynesian claptrap. But then his economic advisors Jason Furmanand economist Austan Goolsbee are Keynesians. According to Keynesian folk lore this process sets off a magical multiplier that then raises everybody's income. (Even Keyness would argue that raising taxes in a recession is stupid. That's why he favour deficits. So what does this make Furmanand and Goolsbee?)
It's a myth. This is the kind of nonsense that has virtually wrecked the British economy. Two fundamental facts need to be understood: Firstly, if these so-called investments are paid for out of taxes then total spending remains the same. But the pattern of spending changes and the greater the taxation the great the changes. The more that is spent on his "investment deficit" the less can be spent on investment that raises real incomes.

On second thought, it’s totally believable.
fwiw, She’s the daughter-in-law of a man revered by Chicago communists, Vernon Jarrett. These individuals and the groups they associate with are very used to ruling. They certainly do a dismal job of governing.
Clinton did a lot by executive order that he knew he couldn’t get through Congress. Or as his toady Paul Begala said of it:
“Stroke of the pen. Law of the land. Kinda cool.”
Obama’s gonna be as good a prez as Dinkins was a great mayor for NYC...or Coleman Young and Kwame Kilpatrick were for Detroit.
China, North Korea, Venezuela, and most countries in Africa have "rulers." We don't... yet...

Those who think that they have just voted to legalize Utopia (and I hardly exaggerate when I say this; have you been reading the moist and trusting comments of our commentariat?) are preparing for a disillusionment that I very much doubt they will blame on themselves. The national Treasury is an echoing, empty vault; our Russian and Iranian enemies are acting even more wolfishly even as they sense a repudiation of Bush-Cheney; the lines of jobless and evicted are going to lengthen, and I don't think a diet of hope is going to cover it. Nor even a diet of audacity, though can you picture anything less audacious than the gray, safety-first figures who have so far been chosen by Obama to be on his team?
There is an element of the "wannabe" about all this—something that suggests that, if the clock were to be rolled back, every living white person would now automatically stand with John Brown at Harper's Ferry and with John Lewis at the Edmund Pettus Bridge. All the evidence we have is to the contrary: Abraham Lincoln ringingly denounced John Brown, and John F. Kennedy (he of the last young and pretty family to occupy the Executive Mansion) was embarrassed and annoyed by the March on Washington.

Clearly, you underestimate the power of the Left to blame. They will not lack targets nor opportunity for whining, carping, or sniveling.
For example, at the office of my wife, a standard lefty is already passing on a rumor—no doubt gleaned from the usual sources—that Bush is at the moment we speak putting into place secret legislation that will block and deter Obama from His Path. Laws and regulations that He will not discover until it is, in many cases, too late.
Thus, when Obama eventually stumbles, as we all must do, it will still be the Right that gets the blame.

...it merely proves one thing: people expect the government to “fix” our problems. Reagan had it right: government IS the problem....hopefully conservatives can deliver this message over the next 2-4 years, and, IF THEY ARE GIVEN ANOTHER CHANCE TO GOVERN, they must follow the principles of conservatism.
Whether they ever get that chance has yet to be seen: Hussein will pursue a consolidation of power by crushing any and all dissent. The gags he will attempt to enforce on political speech will make the Sedition Acts of John Adams time look like child’s play.
Cool. Gas prices will go to $6 a gallon, and you can't blame the evil Bush because the gubmint will be controlled by Obama. The energy companies will move their HQ off-shore and completely stop all new oil projects. Then it'll be just like the 70s again! Long lines, odd and even days.

Ultimately, so long as people aren't threatening violence towards the President or his supporters, I see no issue with a healthy disdain for the Chief Executive. He (or eventually She) is not a monarch, or a dictator, but rather a public servant...so treat them with the same level of respect you'd treat a parking meter attendant or a DMV official.

Transition advisers to President-elect Barack Obama have compiled a list of about 200 Bush administration actions and executive orders that could be swiftly undone to reverse White House policies on climate change, stem cell research, reproductive rights and other issues, according to congressional Democrats, campaign aides and experts working with the transition team.
A team of four dozen advisers, working for months in virtual solitude, set out to identify regulatory and policy changes Obama could implement soon after his inauguration. The team is now consulting with liberal advocacy groups, Capitol Hill staffers and potential agency chiefs to prioritize those they regard as the most onerous or ideologically offensive, said a top transition official who was not permitted to speak on the record about the inner workings of the transition.
In some instances, Obama would be quickly delivering on promises he made during his two-year campaign, while in others he would be embracing Clinton-era policies upended by President Bush during his eight years in office….
Obama himself has signaled, for example, that he intends to reverse Bush’s controversial limit on federal funding of embryonic stem cell research, a decision that scientists say has restrained research into some of the most promising avenues for defeating a wide array of diseases, such as Parkinson’s…
“We have been communicating with his transition staff” almost daily, Richards said. “We expect to see a real change.”
While Obama said at a news conference last week that his top priority would be to stimulate the economy and create jobs, his advisers say that focus will not delay key shifts in social and regulatory policies, including some — such as the embrace of new environmental safeguards — that Obama has said will have long-term, beneficial impacts on the economy.
The president-elect has said, for example, that he intends to quickly reverse the Bush administration’s decision last December to deny California the authority to regulate carbon dioxide emissions from automobiles. “Effectively tackling global warming demands bold and innovative solutions, and given the failure of this administration to act, California should be allowed to pioneer,” Obama said in January…
Some related reforms embraced by Obama’s transition advisers would alter procedures for decision-making on climate issues. A book titled “Change for America,” being published next week by the Center for American Progress, an influential liberal think tank, will recommend, for example, that Obama rapidly create a National Energy Council to coordinate all policymaking related to global climate change.
The center’s influence with Obama is substantial: It was created by former Clinton White House official John D. Podesta, a co-chairman of the transition effort, and much of its staff has been swept into planning for Obama’s first 100 days in office…
The center’s new book will also urge Obama to sign an executive order requiring that greenhouse gas emissions be considered whenever the federal government examines the environmental impact of its actions under the existing National Environmental Policy Act. Several key members of Obama’s transition team have already embraced the idea.
Other early Obama initiatives may address the need for improved food and drug regulation and chart a new course for immigration enforcement, some Obama advisers say…
Despite enormous pent-up Democratic frustration, Obama and his team realize they must strike a balance between undoing Bush actions and setting their own course, said Winnie Stachelberg, the center’s senior vice president for external affairs.

Once again we see the unifying post-partisan Obama people at work:

I have made little reference to this story, aside from including a few links for the sake of, well inclusiveness.
I have no idea where this could lead- so here's a little more of the tale:
“Berg obtained Stanley Ann Dunham’s (Barrack’s mother’s) medical records because he couldn’t get Barrack’s. She has no record of giving birth in the USA in 1961. But she did however give birth to a bouncing baby Barrack Obama Jr. in Mombasa Kenya, August 4, 1961. She Then registered the birth in Hawaii August 8, 1961. If he had been born in America they would have done it in the hospital on the day of his birth.”
This could be devastating to Obama, if proven true.
I have to wonder though, why would a normal (well, that part's debatable) American woman choose to travel thousands of miles to a foreign country to give birth in third world conditions?
Was Ms. Dunham involved in a foreign adoption scheme? She could have made up a story about being pregnant and delivering a baby in Africa, then brought "her" baby home with her to the U.S. (This practice has been tried before and is highly illegal.) Perhaps Barack wasn't even Ann's. Maybe he was the son of Barack Sr's other wife at the time. Some people will do anything to get their children into the U.S. for a "better life."
I pray for the security of those who would bring out the truth in this matter.

Hard to get behind Berg, his was not a good lawsuit. This, OTOH, is. Do I think it should be pursued, yes? Do I believe Obama was born in Hawaii? Probably. Is there something on Obama's birth certificate he does not want us to see. Foe shizzle. Should a President of the United States have to present his vault copy to take office? Absolutely. I don't know what is on the birth certificate- I do know Obama does not want us to see it.
But with Obama - there is no law. It's Alinsky style anarchy.

PRLog (Press Release) – Nov 10, 2008 – On October 27, 2008, plaintiff-appellant, Leo Donofrio, a retired attorney acting Pro Se, sued Nina Mitchell Wells, Secretary of State of the State of New Jersey, in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Appellate Division, demanding the Secretary execute her statutory and Constitutional duties to police the security of ballots in New Jersey from fraudulent candidates ineligible to hold the office of President of the United States due to their not being "natural born citizens" as enumerated in Article 1, Section 2, of the US Constitution.
Unlike other law suits filed against the candidates, Berg etc., this action was the only bi-partisan suit, which sought to have both McCain and Obama removed for the same reason. (Later, Plaintiff also sought the removal of Nicaraguan born Roger Colera, the Presidential candidate for the Socialist Workers Party). The Berg suit will almost certainly fail on the grounds of "standing", but Donofrio v. Wells, having come directly from NJ state courts, will require the SCOTUS to apply New Jersey law, and New Jersey has a liberal history of according standing to citizens seeking judicial review of State activity.
As a New Jersey citizen, I have proper standing. In fact, my standing wasn't challenged by the NJ Attorney General's office in their reply brief in defense of the Secretary of State, nor was my standing challenged by Judge Sabatino in his five page opinion from the NJ Appellate Division. Despite there having been no challenges to my standing raised below, out of respect for the United States Supreme Court, I did address the issue in my application for an emergency stay as follows:
Appellant's standing was not challenged in Respondent's reply brief, nor was it challenged in his Honorable Sabatino's order and decision. However, Appellant discusses the issue below in respect to this most Honorable Court's superior jurisdiction. In Ridgewood Education Association v Ridgewood Board Of Education, 284 N.J. Super. 427 (App. Div. (1995)), the Court stated, "We see no reason why this State's historic liberal approaches to the issue of standing in general....should not apply to taxpayer suits challenging the quasi-legislative actions of local boards of education." Silverman v. Board of Ed., Tp. of Millburn, 134 N.J. Super. 253, 257-58 (Law Div.), aff'd o.b. 131 N.J. Super. 435 (App. Div. 1975).
The policies of justice regarding the sanctity of voting rights were also stated in New Jersey Democratic Party v. Samson, 175 N.J. 178, 814 A.2d 1028 (October 2, 2002). Although the petitioner bringing suit in that case was a political party, the voting rights discussed and protected were those of individuals. Therefore, the reasoning of that case should apply when the petitioner is an individual voter.
Appellant's fundamental right to vote for a candidate who will not be disqualified after the election is now threatened by the inclusion on New Jersey ballots of three ineligible candidates.
"When the state legislature vests the right to vote for President in its people, the right to vote as the legislature has prescribed is fundamental; and one source of its fundamental nature lies in the equal weight accorded to each vote and the equal dignity owed to each voter." Bush v. Gore, 531 U.S 5, 6 (2000)
And finally, Appellant's fundamental right to live in the United States governed by a President and Commander In Chief who is Constitutionally eligible to the office of President is also threatened. Since this action is so very grounded in the interests of justice, and supported by all of the above, Appellant respectfully requests that this court recognize his standing.
While Mr. Berg, who has made a valiant effort, does not have legal standing, I do have a right of review by the US Supreme Court since New Jersey recognizes my standing and also because I have exhausted all of my state court options and there is nowhere else for me to go for justice.

SOME ECONOMIC QUESTIONS: I like this one: "Is it good public policy to have your entire electorate pay taxes? If so, why? If not, why not? I'm trying to figure out how it is healthy to have 35-40% of the electorate outside of the income tax system." I think that everyone should pay something in income tax, and that the amount they pay should go up or down with total federal spending. Otherwise nobody has any incentive to control spending, and we wind up . . . well, where we are. More questions, and an invitation to discussion, at the link.

One of the most horrible chapters is on page 20 - Oswald's reeducation session. Can we afford to remain silent and do nothing about this? But I don't know what to do and where to go.

“Reviving Conservatism”

The National Review Institute and Hillsdale College are throwing a conference devoted to that very topic in Washington a week from today. Confirmed speakers include Rich Lowry, Heather MacDonald, David Brooks, Andrew McCarthy, Frederick Kagan, and Yuval Levin.
And if this somehow doesn’t work, the next step will be to dig up William Buckley and hold a seance, with John Derbyshire present to explain the otherwordly communications in term of abstruse mathematical formulas, genetic determinism, and — for reasons best left to him — the comeliness of fifteen-year-old girls with tight, shapely bumpers.
Because really, who beside such Beltway pundits whose guidance and boosterism allowed us to embrace a McCain nomination — some of whom have even referred to Sarah Palin a “cancer” on the GOP (and in so doing, conflating the conservatism with their own country club Republicanism) — are more qualified to help us “revive” conservatism?
I mean, check the credentials, people. Were David Brooks any more qualified to teach conservatives how to behave he’d have to wear a robe and speak from a f*cking cloud.
(And lest I be accused of attacking my political allies just to be OUTLAW, let me point out that I’d be interested in hearing what several of those speakers had to say — Lowry, Kagen, and MacDonald chief among them — provided they were joined by conservatives who exist outside the incestuous world of national political punditry, and provided they took the opportunity to punk David Brooks by having Sarah Palin show up and seated her beside him at the banquet table).
Want to “revive conservatism”? First figure out what it is. Next, reject the idea that only certain “types” are capable of governing under its precepts. Follow that up by pointing out that much of what passes for social conservatism is of the same stripe as progressivism, and should be banished, as should all attempts at nannystatism. And finally, refuse to listen to anyone who tells you to embrace electoral pragmatism at the expense of reaffirming and selling fundamental ideals and principles.
Anything else is short-term thinking, and will give us the kind of GOP “control” we had until 2006, where compassionate conservatism became just a right-wing spin on big government spending, entitlement culture, and middling, unprincipled governance.
A Canadian blogger, Celestial Junk, has a list of the promises made by Obama. If the list is accurate, you might need a lot more storage than 1TB.

I am not going to talk about how Mr. Obama stole the nomination from Hillary Clinton. I am not going to talk about widespread voter fraud involving Acorn in the Obama camp, both in the primaries and general election. I am not going to talk about how all the Obama's men either had influence in his life or helped him to his meteoric rise to power.
I am not going to talk about Obama's pre-paid Credit Card Fraud problem. I am not going to talk about how Radical Muslims paid Obama's way through college. I am not going to talk about Obama's Middle East Studies Mentors. I am not going to talk about Obama's Voodoo Economics. I am not going to talk about the Logan Act when Mr. Obama did not speak responsibly when he went to Europe, Iraq and also a trip in 2006 to Kenya to meet with Odinga.
No, I am not going to talk about any of them, since none of those issues apparently mattered to those who voted for him. They elected him despite knowing those facts. So, I concede he won the election by receiving more votes than Senator McCain who seemed to desperately want to wrap things up and throw in the towel.
However, I am truly disturbed. I do want to talk about the fears that are rampantly mounting, concerning the question of Mr. Obama being a natural born U.S. citizen, as required by the Constitution, to run for the office of the presidency of the United States.
This issue led Philip J. Berg, a long time Democrat and attorney, to file suit against Barack H. Obama, challenging Senator Obama's lack of to serve as President of the United States. He filed a Writ of Certiorari in the United States Supreme Court on October 30, 2008, requesting a review of Judge Surrick's decision to dismiss his lawsuit against Barack H. Obama, Jr., the DNC and the other co-Defendants.
According to Berg, Obama is not eligible to be president.
He says Obama was born in Kenya and he carries an Indonesian passport and became an Indonesian citizen when his stepfather adopted him while going to school in Indonesia. In addition, Mr. Obama's paternal grandmother in Kenya, has publicly stated that she attended his birth at a hospital in Mombosa, Kenya, in 1961.
Ironically, Linda Lingle, the Governor of Hawaii, issued an order to seal his birth records shortly after Mr. Obama's recent trip to Hawaii. That begs the question: What is he hiding? Why not just open his records if there is nothing to hide? In an extraordinary gesture, the honorable U.S. District Judge R. Barclay Surrick tossed out the suit claiming citizens do not have any standing to challenge the constitutionality of this issue.
"This is a question of who has standing to uphold our Constitution," Berg said in a statement. "If I don't have standing, if you don't have standing, if your neighbor doesn't have standing to question the eligibility of an individual to be President of the United States

Berg argued, "We the people have no right to police the eligibility requirements under the U.S. Constitution? What happened to ...Government of the people, by the people, for the people...?" Apparently Mr. Obama's credential at Columbia University is SEALED. His year at Harvard is SEALED. His Certificate of Live Birth, or COLB (a COLB is a completely different document, one that can be registered much later than at the time of birth) is in the possession of the Hawaii Department of Public Health and is also SEALED.
Berg stressed the urgency of his case, arguing that "we" the people are heading to a "Constitutional Crisis" if this case is not resolved quickly.
Utah Senator, Orrin Hatch, once said, "Judges who take the law into their own hands, who make up constitutional 'rights' in order to strike down laws they oppose, undermine the people's right to have their values shape public policy and define the culture." James Madison said, "The people are the only legitimate fountain of power, and it is from them that the constitutional charter, under which the several branches of government hold their power is derived."
Freedom is a principle that must be applied indiscriminately. Once the constitutional laws are in place, they must be applied and practiced to their fullest. After living in America for 30 years, I have come to believe the Americans, of all people, understand the importance of a good, legal and sound constitutional framework as the foundation of political life.
Here is the question in the minds of many American citizens now: Is Barack Obama a United States Natural Born Citizen, and is he eligible to become the President of the United States, or did he present a forged government document to verify a citizenship he does not possess?
I am a recent "shareholder" in this magnificent "company" -- United States of America. The charter that lights the path of this country is the Constitution. I vehemently disagree with those who are more than willing to violate the Constitution and call it little more than a body of suggestions that can be disregarded when expedient. To me, the Constitution is our nation's most sacred document. It is the document that binds its vastly diverse constituents as equal loyal members.
I strongly feel that Mr. Obama and his supporters have not abided by the explicit provisions of the Constitution. For this reason, I am launching my protest and am demanding that the truth about Mr. Obama's eligibility to be the president of this great nation be conclusively established so that we can function as one nation and without the nagging question about Obama's eligibility that deeply troubles me and millions of my fellow Americans.----
