The day I start praying for that POS will be a long way off.
It is amazing how often I have to bring up the Gospel passage “Love your enemies, pray for those who persecute you” on this forum.
The message of this election is that the road for the pro-life cause isn’t easy. It isn’t supposed to be easy. Heck, the pro-freedom group advocating the elimination of slavery had to take up arms and fight for it, so I guess anything short of that should actually be considered easy.
We simply cannot show up on election day, vote, go home, and then expect everyone else will have the same heart we do when it comes to life issues. But why only do so little? Do we pray for the pro-life cause? Do we fast? Do we spend hours in Eucharistic adoration? Or do we do so little that in the end we will have no choice but to take up arms and fight? Isn’t it possible that brother didn’t have to fight brother and state fight state 150+ years ago if only a few more people would have prayed a little more?
And finally, do we pray for those who don’t see it the same way? Do we pray that they will have a conversion? After all, they are human beings with souls just like the rest of us.
Pray that he is converted. And work so that he doesn’t get away with the horrible things he plans to do.
St. Michael, the Archangel, defend us in battle
Be our protection against the wickedness
and snares of the devil;
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host,
by the power of God,
Thrust into hell Satan and all evil spirits
who wander through the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen
