A witty yet chilling read....

Although I have not always been the most outspoken advocate of President-Elect Barack Obama, today I would like to congratulate him and add my voice to the millions of fellow citizens who are celebrating his historic and frightening election victory. I don't care whether you are a conservative or a liberal -- when you saw this inspiring young African-American rise to our nation's highest office I hope you felt the same sense of patriotic pride that I experienced, no matter how hard you were hyperventilating with deep existential dread.

Yes, I know there are probably other African-Americans much better qualified and prepared for the presidency. Much, much better qualified. Hundreds, easily, if not thousands, and without any troubling ties to radical lunatics and Chicago mobsters. Gary Coleman comes to mind. But let's not let that distract us from the fact that Mr. Obama's election represents a profound, positive milestone in our country's struggle to overcome its long legacy of racial divisions and bigotry. It reminds us of how far we've come, and it's something everyone in our nation should celebrate in whatever little time we now have left.

Maybe it is time for that again, for all of us. We have been soooo blessed, we must have bad times to appreciate the good.

His ego knows no bounds. One year from now I think many a Obama voter will be saying ‘I voted for change, but not this...’

Two years from now you won’t be able to find anyone who voted for him. He’s going to be that bad.

He’s not going to be able to win respect from conservatives. Undoubtedly he’s going to pull some crap that’s really going to piss us off. And he seems to think someone like a Lincoln Chaffee in his cabinet will show true bipartisanship. But then, he’s probably not going to be radical enough for the tastes of his moonbat supporters. But he’ll have the libs in Congress forcing him further left than he wants to go, which will start to alienate the middle.

Rahm the ballet dancer or whatever is now his enforcer. That says a lot about what kind of “change” he is truly bringing to the White House. It’s the Metrosexual Daley Machine Fascist version of change. When you have to placate the poor, the unions, the young, the academics, and the affluent cultural liberals you know you are going to end up with one odd looking duck of an administration.

The Federal Government is BROKE. They have more programs than they can afford. Obama is proposing more and more programs, but the money doesn't exist to pay for them. What about the issues of millions of very part-time volunteers and the supervision they would require? And the paperwork necessary to track it--from schools that can barely meet the no-child-left behind requirements? And the additional employees needed to track it all?

Forced volunteerism by government isn't volunteerism, it is servitude. All it takes is for one suburban kid to get knifed while doing mandatory community service work in the hood and the political firestorm and lawsuits will end any such a program immediately.

“Barack Obama will require you to work. He is going to demand that you shed your cynicism. That you put down your divisions. That you come out of your isolation and that you move out of your comfort zone. That you push yourselves to be better. And that you engage. Barack will never allow you to go back to your lives as usual – uninvolved, uninformed – you have to stay at the seat at the table of democracy with a man like Barack Obama not just on Tuesday but in a year from now, in four years from now, in eights years from now, you will have to be engaged.”- Michelle Obama at UCLA

I have no idea what I am supposed to click to listen to or read from this site you referred to. I'd like to read the whole article or whatever it is but there are about 50 to choose from.

Which one is it?

People do that all the time. They love to annoy others by not posting the actual link to what they want us to see.

I don’t think some of the readers of this piece “get” it—

Some of us don't get it since the article can't be found. The poster's link is worthless.

“Community Service for all Middle and High School Children.” — The Volokh Conspiracy’s Jim Lindgren examines Barack Obama’s plan for middle and high school students to do 50 hours of community service as part of his “civilian national security force.” While one can quibble with whether community service (as it is commonly thought of) is comparable to national security, Obama’s chosen mechanism is troubling. Since, as Lindgren points out in the comments: http://volokh.com/posts/1219902544.shtml#421553

He isn't saying anything, except that a half black made it to be president, through cheating (Acorn & finances) and lying and hanging with radicals and having the MSM in the tank. Yeah, congratulations. Being black really accomplished this and that is why every black should be proud that they are black. So what happen to being an American or does it matter?

Heard an interview today with a pissed-off black man. Said he’d been told he’d make 10 dollars and hour working for BO and that he’d worked 12 hours. His check was only 90+ dollars.

He’d apparently never encountered taxes before.

Thanks for the real link, blueknight99. I’ve been sitting here irritated as hell that the link in the above thread didn’t lead to nothing but a bunch of other articles. Hate it when that happens. ;)

"We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded."
