What about the little girl affirmative action? Shouldn't females everywhere just give up? What about us? Men can have power black or white, but women, don't even think it!
“Facts remain by the time a woman is elected President Hell will freeze over. Evey other minority under the sun will be elected first including male UFO.”

There is another group that suffers from the same concerns that you express - since time immemorial, minorities have come to the U.S., among those blacks. Everyone of those minorities (e.g., Chinese, Irish, Cubans, Vietnamese, etc.) have risen above the challenges and dealt with all the hurdles, save one minority which seems to be perpetually aggrieved, always requesting a thumb on the scale to balance it to their favor. You sound like you’re a member of that minority.
Actually, I agree with you. It was an eye opening experience to see how women were treated this election season.
I’m particularly appalled at the MSM treatment of Sarah Palin. Sarah Palin really is the only thing that got me excited about the ticket and motivated me to vote to this year. And guess what? As I vote, so does my husband vote (at least in this household, lol).
Sarah was and is refreshing in her honesty, integrity and patriotism. God bless her and her lovely family.
...long time, Rembrandt. I still remember how well you did in arguments against neo-Nazi fallacies. :-)
I'm not the OP but I'd like to throw in my .02 if I may.
I agree fully with the first part of this statement, and have taught my children the same. I want my girls to succeed, but on their merits, not at the expense of their brother. They get it, we all (truly conservative women) get it.
The problem we've encountered in this election cycle is the out and out disdain and hatred and ugliness lobbed at Sarah Palin that went largely unchecked by most in the media. SHE was a representative of a protected class? Could have fooled me! Yes, I know it's because she' conservative. That just makes it worse when other conservative women hear supposed conservative men justify her treatment.
And may I add she didn't even 'go' shopping. Some Republican underling was dispatched, w/RNC credit cards to 'style' the Palin family. But to hear Carl Cameron's 'breathless' report on Fox (don't they hire male talking heads that actually have a pair?) CC went on and on about Palin being a 'Diva' and her 'shopping sprees.'
Okay...let's get the point here...anyone remember Palin causing any riots at Nordstroms or Saks? Any photo ops of the Alaskan Governor leaving the Mall of America toting shopping bags? Did the Secret Service give Sarah the gives to a Suburban and let her drive off to the nearest Bloomingdales? No...and yet Cameron reported this like the gospel. Fact check? No! Hyperbole? Yes!
How about making of fun of Hillary's pantsuits? Her 'cankles' fair game...but no one spoke the actual middle name of the male Democratic candidate...when he told them they couldn't use it. The absolute misogyny of this campaign is stunning...oh...and the Messiah...well, his cabinet, err, apostles, are right now ALL WHITE MEN. Huh! Change fer sure...(no black women or Hispanics like GWB's cabinet...but that's different...these are Democrats.).
Me too, and me too lol. I have never, and never will, let my ovaries dictate who I would vote for (Sorry Condi, you're a Lib) but I was excited to see a woman I could be proud of associating with have a shot. I hope she goes far.
off issue a bit...your breathless comment...did you see condi rice talking about obamas win? she could hardly breath she was so excited. made me sick.
Me too.
To me, Sarah Palin embodies every good quality that I’d want in a conservative woman candidate. Heck, any conservative candidate, woman or man for that matter. Mrs. Palin has nothing but my utmost respect.
And this I know for sure - Sarah Palin scares the bejezus out of the left and lots of those on the so-called right as well. The thing is, I don’t think Mrs. Palin really understands quite how powerful she really is, but I think that will come in time...
“If I put on my burka will you feel better? Get over yourself!”

What IS your problem? If you’re upset, you should first examine your own attitude - reasonable people do that as opposed to you.
You’re whacked. sarah palin was the only reason that got me and a lot of other guys to vote for McCain.
Don’t look at a few pissy little rumors about infighting from unnamed sources and believe it’s gospel or that it’s all about men vs women. You’re wrong. It’s about philosophy. The moderate RINOs vs conservatives. It’s not about genitalia.
As for Rice...wow. Would have hoped better from her...(but how many times have we all said that).
And more things...you are soooo right. 0bama has huge problems w/strong women. I bet he harbors alot of anger and resentment towards his late mother (for his unusual childhood...and for her choices). Hillary make him unglue during the primaries (oh yeah...can you imagine if any other human being used their middle digit as much as he does...but...its ok. Its the Messiah). He flipped her off; smirked. And lets get back to the ‘c’ word...again a smirk when McCain brought it up during the last debate. The freaking ‘c’ word!
Michelle Malkin was embarassed today that Palin cried on stage after the election. You’re right women take it from every side, male and female bashing and we don’t have any conveinient card to play like the racist card.
No...this goes deeper than RINOs vs. Conservatives...that has been going since Goldwater. No. There was a root of ugliness, a misogyny directed at Palin and Clinton. They both got too close to getting to the White House.
You're kidding?! I hadn't seen that. Disgusting.
Maldin’s show today was pretty much dedicated to Palin being the reason McCain lost.
That is true, because it is women who need to raise the children, to nurture the family. And because there are differences between men & women, mental & emotional processes, not to mention physical, that give men the best choice for powerful positions. There are women like British PM Thatcher, older and highly intelligent, motivated as we say, who work just as well. Most women don ‘t. Then, Eleanor Roosevelt was no “little woman”; she became as well known as her man. But, would you want a government where most reps were female? With househusbands taking care of the kids? Or—ha!—chasing skirts while nannies took care of the kids? Think of all the catfights in the senate and congress! Just some thoughts.
To be fair, I may have outdone him from my sofa during the debates...
And lets get back to the c word...again a smirk when McCain brought it up during the last debate. The freaking c word!
You know what's a little funny? That word never particularly bothered me before. Unpleasant, yes, but just a stupid word. I think I heard somewhere that it was supposed to reduce me to tears or make my breasts explode or something but, meh, whatever. The problem was that I know how offensive it is to most and he didn't smirk, he CHUCKLED. The S.O.B. didn't even try to hide his amusement.
