Mike Huckabee 2012
Canada Free Press ^ | 11/06/2008 | Yomin Postelnik

... ask a man on the street and more than likely he’ll give you another reason for anything that’s ever happened to America, the profound and analytical retort of “it’s all Bush’s fault.” The problem is that he means it. A bigger problem is that we let this happen.

Why is this? The question does not even need to be asked. The obvious answer is the lack of able PR coming from our side.

While President Bush has been, contrary to conventional opinion (opinion that will change within months of his departure from office), an able leader on defense and on many economic issues, he has never been allowed to communicate the true reasons for his decisions or to defend himself from over the top attacks. His handlers have been cautious, and cautiousness, while having a rightful and important place, does not carry the day.

>>>we have a serious problem that needs to be examined.<<<<

Most people want to purge “the RINOs”, whom I contend are a minimal though bothersome problem.

The real problem is the substantial pollution of the conservative philosophy with social dicta and social goals that are inimical to our core principles.

Amen. I envisage Sarah and Jindal engaging in a super friendly primary and Sarah winning over Jindal and picking him as her running mate. Sarah will cover the conservatives. Jindal will be appealing to the minorities (Asians and Hispanics). There is a huge population in CA,NJ. We might even get those bluest states.

Um, no.

We need a fresh start. The most well known candidate we even need to consider is Palin, then we move to names few have heard of.

The old guard needs to move on, time for the younger crowd who grew up politically under Reagan....

Huckabee? Not just No. HELL F’ing NO!

‘Christian’ socialism. All the stupidity of socialism with a veneer of Christianity.

If you got mad when you were called a racist for opposing allowing anybody who could make it over the border a U.S. citizen, how about when Huckabee called you un-Christian for opposing social(ist) benefits for illegal aliens?

http://www.arkansasnews.com/archive/2005/01/28/News/316347.html

Gov. Mike Huckabee Thursday denounced a bill by Sen. Jim Holt that would deny state benefits to illegal immigrants as un-Christian, un-American, irresponsible and anti-life.

“I don't understand how a practicing Christian can turn his back on a child from this or any other state,” Huckabee said.

But Romney was . . . a Mormon.

And he was pro-choice in an earlier life . . . meaning that McCain should win by default, but I'll vote for Obama anyway because I like his hair. /sarc

Imagine in 2012 a man who compared illegal immigration to slavery running against a black president. Huckabee’s crucifixion would truly be of biblical proportions, except without any moral high ground or redeeming qualities.

Millions of conservatives stayed home.

Which brings us to the conclusion that the "social" conservative vote doesn't mean squat.

"Nope, sorry. No to the Huckster. Enough with all of those guys. No Rudy, no Romney, no Huck, no Fred, none of em. "

I agree!

Romney is too stuffy, and now has dissed Sarah through his subordinates; Rudy, I just don't trust a New York RINO, I thought Sean Hannity was going to pee down both legs everytime he talked about or got near Rudy;

Fred, I like Fred but he cowed down in the primary, I thought he fell asleep a couple of times in the debates;

Huckabee is a "TV Evangelist", and I don't think he has the fire to play dirty, and that's what it's going to take in America from this point forward, and the base doesn't want to be preached to.

Jindal - I'm not sold on him yet...the first time I saw him was last night, and he looked like a light weight to me. He talks pretty good, but then, so does obama.

I like the idea of putting Newt as the GOP Chief, maybe he can get some folks fired up in the party.

Right now, we need to be concentrating on the Senate races, we have plenty of time to worry about a President. I think obama's might not get his "expectations" adjusted and he might be a one termer.<

Huckaphony is a proven loser. We dont need retreads in 2012, we had enough losers in 2008.

NO, NO, NO!!! We don’t want any candidates that ran in the primary of 2008 — we want new candidates. Most of us didn’t like what we saw and don’t want a rerun!

Let’s get some new blood like Sarah Palin, Bobby Jindel, Mark Sanford, Tim Pawlenty and others to run.

NO McCain, Thompson, Giuliani, Huckabee, or Romney — we need new and fresh ideas that can energize Conservatives.

I have a few lefty acquaintances who told me in the days before the election that they believed absolutely that Romney lost primarily because the lunatic fringe of the Republican Party absolutely wouldn’t vote for a Mormon. I told them I really didn’t think that was the case, that his prior pro-abort stance and general vacuousness did him in more than anything. Having had a week or so to think about it and remembering some of the stuff that was posted here, I now think there may be something to it.

No thanks.

Or rather: while Huck obviously would be better than Obama, I would strongly prefer another Republican choice.

There, fixed it.
