News has been circulating around GOP insiders for weeks that McCain campaign honchos Rick Davis and Steve Schmidt were planning to blame Sarah Palin for McCain’s loss. This was expected to be an effort to punt the blame for their own failures to the side of the ticket that was most popular with the base, attracted the largest rally crowds, and scared the living bejeepers out of the opposing party.

“I think his principal mistake was to go for Federal financing. That limited him to $80m”

It just means the so-called ‘public financed campaign’ debate is DEAD!!!...

... Just like the ‘Steak Knife Incident’ with emanuel’s & obama’s political traitors.

This is true. non-christian republicans hates her. This is pure, unadulterated BS. The only people that hated her were women that were afraid she would hurt Obama. The campaign was mismanaged. Conservatives were screaming, "Let Palin be Palin". Once she went "rogue", she kicked @ss. The campaign staffers knew they were going to take the fall for all the mishandling; thus decided to push the blame onto Palin instead of themselves. Any conservative that purports that Palin was poor for the campaign either has an agenda or didn't pay close attention to the campaign.

“I guess the ratings have gone to their heads and they have forgotten that when you reach the top there is only one place to go — happy landing Fox - I will only watch Sean and Gretta!!!”

I’m with ya, but I’ll add Neil Cavuto to the mix, along with Megan Kelly.

“despite a 12% increase in the number of people who voted.”

Don’t believe the propagandists. 26 million FEWER people voted this time around... Nice try.

“the election was “unwinnable” once the financial market crashed.”

Not if Palin was on top of the ticket. She would have gone ‘full-bore’ on Barney Frank and his ilk’s corruption. That was a hangin’ curve-ball given the proper slugger at the plate.

Kinda lost respect for Cavuto - he didn’t even understand the $300B housing proposal of McCains (that was to be taken out of the $750B) and EVERY day he bad mouthed MCCain for ADDING the additional $300B onto the $750B - I wrote emails every day to try to get him on track - of course that did no good. When experts, such as Cavuto, don’t understand the numbers they are to be analyzing - they are worthless.

Don’t get me wrong here - I certainly think it’s criminal to refinance those houses at today’s market value and the tax payers eat the rest. Many refinanced their houses at the top of the housing bubble and spent the newly found money - now tax dollars will let them keep that profit. People and businesses should be allowed to succeed and allowed to fail!!!

I cringed when Mac said that, because he wasn’t clear about what he wanted to do and it did sound as though it was something he wanted to add. I knew he lost some conservatives with that. He made it clear later, but not well enough and much too late, apparently, for many to get the message. It wouldn’t have taken much for Cavuto to find out and set it straight.

Our local RNC office simply could not get signs, bumper stickers or any thing else from the McCain Campaign and they tried.

That might explain why the woman sounded irritated.

It was just disgraceful. We were losing VA, making Southern VA so important, but nothing from the campaign. Is it any wonder Gilmore was soundly beaten?

I’ll bet big bucks that the RNC got their huge salaries and all attended their lavish parties - paid for by your contributions - that’s just the way it is - how to get rid of those clingons?

Screw ‘michelle d’marxist’s’ plans for my white, un-indoctrinated arse. We understand she wears the britches in that den, as per the marxist way.

As it began in the 60’s;

Tune in, turn on, and drop out;

at least until the REAL Conservatives make a comeback.

How do you all define Conservative??? I think I know about all the smaller government/lower taxes stuff, but the thing that keeps killing us in elections are the social issues - I just care that ‘they’ stay out of my personal business. What say you???

Newt is throwing is hat into the ring as chairman of the RNC. That's a good start. The RNC has to be shaken up. Weed out the dead wood.

Conservatism seems to mean many things to many people. To me, Conservatism means limited government and personal responsibility. Ronald Reagan, hailed as the greatest Conservative, didn't get bogged down in the social issues. If we don't get back to the basics, I fear that socialism may be here to stay. This is going to get me slammed, but I think single issue voters are killing us.

It appears the Republicans did not have a “community organizer” strategy. In many of the close states, this would have helped tremendously to getting out the vote/message. The Dem. party, on the other hand was quite organized.

Funny that you call it "community organizer", but yes, we do need to be more organized in our communities. Not for fraudulent purposes, but to at least GOTV.

Actually the original quote is Benjamin Franklin, but there wasn't room to fit the author. As it was, it only fit when I reduced the word "two" to the number "2." LOL

I used "community organizer" purposefully, because I believe we are in a fight with the mother of all community organizers, the democrat party paired with the Obama Chicago machine. I don't think a lot of Republoicans realize what's happened with this election. Here's an interesting article from the American Spectator about what we may face after this election, Saul Alinsky Takes the White House
