I propose that we punish the FOX Network for its hatchet job on Sarah Palin.
For one week beginning at 3:00 PM today no one tunes them in. We will demonstrate the power of conservatives when their ratings plummet dramatically.
Will you join me?
Carl Cameron sealed the deal for me. This incident was the third strike.
First Strike- Fox hiring Geraldo
Second Strike - Bill O’Rielly’s lame left leaning ways since the third Debate. Unbalanced.
Please send me a private message and I will provide an e-mail address.
This is the letter I sent to Fox News Network Comments:
Dear Fox,
My question is this: WHY WHY WHY would Carl Cameron report all that gobbly gook about Sarah Palin AFTER the election is over and she has been defeated??? To me this is the last straw for the Fox News Network. It started with Shepherd Smith reporting things very negatively; then OReilly actually saying when he interviewed Barack Obama that he believed him and took him at his word. Next it is Hannity and Colmes constantly having Dick Morris on their program. Dick Morris has proven over and over again that he is wrong on his opinions about 95 per cent of the time. As far as I am concerned, Greta and Neil Cavuto are the only afternoon and evening news programs worth watching except when Greta is stuck on the latest sensationalized murder or child missing. So that leaves Fox and Friends in the morning and Neil Cavuto in the afternoon. PERIOD. I just read about a boycott of Fox News Network, and I, for one am in favor of this after Carl Cameron spewed his factually-suspect report. You have lost all credibility of reporting the newswe decide. I have depended on Fox News to report a side of the news that is virtually ignored on the other major networksyet, I continue to see a definite decline in news reported of both sides of the political spectrum.
Therefore I am taking the Fox News Network off of my favorites and skipping over it. Am I boycotting Fox News? You could say that. I no longer have confidence in your various reporters and whether they get the facts or the fiction for their reports.
This is truly a sad state of affairs with a station that had so much going for it. Perhaps you wont be affected by this boycott, perhaps you wont but I guess I will not have to hear people like Major Garrett and Carl Cameron any more.
How did the media pick Maverick? I would have been fine with either Maverick or even Huckabee. In fact I was disappointed Huckabee wasn’t the Veep choice.
Removed FOX from my computer home page and stopped watching them on election night.
Agree totally — like many others on this string, I’m already not watching any cable news network.
I watch almost no TV at all. I will, on days of a big story, turn on Fox News for a few minutes but other then Red Wing hockey games and 24, I watch nothing on the tube ... and don’t miss it. I watch a lot of DVD’s because I can pick what I want to see.
Done!
I won’t join such a boycott.
Fox News was, without question, the most balanced network throughout the election. No — their coverage wasn’t always favorable to conservatives or Republicans. But, I’m not looking for a shill ... I’m looking for someone to give me the news.
A study I recently saw spoke of the number of negative stories about each candidate from each network ... 85% of MSNBC’s McCain stories were unfavorable, compared to about 20% of Obama stories. CNN was almost as bad. Fox had 40% unfavorable for McCain, 40% for Obama.
Overall — I like their coverage. Hume, Barnes, Kondrake, Krauthammer, Kristol, Rove, Huckabee, O’Reilly, Cameron, Garrett, Angle, etc. are all generally very good. No, I don’t always agree with them ... but I don’t need to ALWAYS agree with someone to appreciate a balanced approach.
As for the hit pieces on Palin ... apparently some McCain staffers are upset with her, and are talking to the media. Fine. Whatever. I blame the staffers, not the reporters.
These really are non-stories. The election is over ... and Sarah Palin will return to Alaska for a while before coming back into the national political scene. By that time, these stories will be ancient history.
H
Everyone always says they enjoy Brit Hume. Every time I have seen him, he is dry to boring, and doesn’t seem to be much of a conservative at all. I disagreed with every word he said after the 3rd debate.
I turned ‘em off for good around midnight Tuesday night. I’m going on a four year vacation from all of these morons.
***If you have Dish or Directv, they KNOW what you are watching***
Hey, if that’s true - then we can run up the ratings for EWTN!!
I recognized that sh!t-hole for what it was when they hired that @sshole Geraldo Rivera Jerry Rivers way back when.
That with all of this working to hurt Sarah Palin is the end for me.
I really think that God will step in and fight for her. He never rushes in.He is kind and sometimes He waits to let people show their worst. The time will come when He will move and when He does, I wonder how much power Fox News will have left.
I would not want to be in the shoes of all of those working to destroy Sarah Palin
Is this O’Riely???
Already started. Greta has been been pretty good this election cycle. I hate to see her get punished too, but a bandwagon is a bandwagon - and I’m jumping on.
Election night was the first time in 3 months I watched Fox news, and it will be the last for a long time.
In 2 years Juan Williams will be the conservative on the Sunday Morning roundtable.
Yup! Do that!
