The Rush Limbaugh LIVE Radio Thread - November 6, 2008
EIB Network ^ | November 6, 2008 | Rush Limbaugh

Posted on 11/06/2008 8:45:16 AM PST by IMissPresidentReagan

AND NOW . . . amidst billowing clouds of fragrant, aromatic first- and second-hand premium cigar smoke. . . it is time for . . . that harmless, lovable little fuzz ball, the highly-trained broadcast specialist, having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have, from behind the golden EIB microphone, firmly ensconced in the prestigious Attila-the-Hun chair at the Limbaugh Institute of Advanced Conservative Studies, the Mandarin of Talk Radio, with talent on loan from G-d, at the cutting-edge of societal evolution, with half his brain tied behind his back — just to make it fair, the all-knowing, all-caring, all-sensing, all-feeling, Maha-Rushie! America’s anchorman, truth detector, and doctor of democracy. A Real Man, a living legend, a way of life. Commander in Chief of U.S. Operation Chaos. Chief Waga-Waga El Rushbo of the El Conservo Tribe. Chief of the Patriotism Police. A Weapon of Mass Instruction. El Rushbo (a little Spanish lingo, there). He is the man who is running America (you know it and I know it). He knows the Democrats like every square inch of his glorious naked body. He is ready to do what he was born to do—that’s host. Get ready to what you were born to do—that’s listen (and post your comments on the Rush Limbaugh LIVE Radio Thread).

We love to hear Rush Limbaugh,
Excellence in Broadcasting.
From sea to shining sea,
Millions and millions listen.
Conservative voice of freedom,
Heard throughout all America.
A message pure and truthful,
The downhearted are encouraged.
Integrity and honesty his motto.
We love you, Rush.
Listen to Rush Limbaugh.
G-d Bless you, Rush Limbaugh.

You don’t need to be obnoxious. I was talking to the original poster. You didn’t follow the thread and are jumping in, saying irrelevant things just to show off.

I’ll check out the rollover thing. I’m afraid that money anywhere may be “up for grabs”. I’m still working but with the announced cuts in defense, maybe not for long.

You have to quit a job first in order to roll the 401K money over - so I hope you do not need to do that! If they start in with the confiscation of prior earnings, not just taxing present earnings, then as you say - all money will be up for grabs. There are a few things about rollovers that 'might' make them safer than 401Ks - such as being able to buy annuities in them and the ease of moving that money around as often as one wants. A moving target is harder to catch!

companies are going to like this idea....look at the money they will save

Absolutely. No more matching 401K funds and no more having to pay a company to keep track of all the money. Wanna bet salaries do not go up to keep earnings consistent?

“I’m not sure what the answer is:

I’m not sure there is one answer, ever. I look at it a lot of different ways” technical, valuation, and psychological. CNBC is just way to rosey for this to be the bottom. Technically I could see this easily go way back. Most of the recent boom was built on debt, I can’t imagine we repeat THAT bubble. In fact that bubble is not even completely burst. And valuation - can anybody tell me the earnings estimates for 2009 are even in the ball park.

“Since high school, I’ve always thought there would be another civil war....we never healed as a country after 1865 and the DUmocrats have been trying to get PAYBACK ever since.”

I’ve always thought the same thing.

Deflation, hmm.

That would be interesting with all the money the fed continues to pump in. The Treasury is going to have to sell gzillions of notes to pay for all this crap and I would think that eventually bubble in the money supply and what they have to pay to sell all those notes will start stagflation. I think stagflation has a better shot than deflation. Making printing presses for the Treasury maybe the only growth industry left. That and community organizing.

Keep in mind what has happened with all the billions already put into circulation...the dollar has risen internationally. Actual printed dollars are a small fraction of the money used in the global economy.

A couple of telltale signs will be falling prices for everyday goods and a large jump in unemployment.

In stagflation, demand for goods was always there. Money was available for borrowing, even though the interests costs were high. That is not the case now...there is no money to loan and demand for goods is going to drop tremendously. Pricing, jobs, and wages will fall accordingly.

Maybe temporarily Lori but remember the bailout should have been a huge wake-up call for all conservatives! 70-80% of the country were against the federal bailout.

The country has always been center right and always will be. We need to tap into that and we are home free.

IMHO, we desperately need to take back two key things and if we do, it will help tremendously in TEACHING conservatism, and hence Americanism, to the next generations.

We need to take back EDUCATION and the LEGAL system, i.e we need more CONSERVATIVE TEACHERS AND LAWYERS. In fact, we need to set up more private teaching institutions in every state. Make them inexpensive.

The only Fox show I watch anymore is the “Cavuto Report” at 6:00 on Fox Business.

don't watch any part of FOX News... none of it! come on... suffer the inconvenience... they don't care about you... they don't respect you... they laugh at you... they are using you... and when i say you, i mean all conservatives who still give them an audience...

Till he goes to the dark side I'll stick with him.

Brit wasn't much better than the rest of them when he let Obama and Biden get away with their lies during the debates... he let them get away with "style." he never questioned their inconsistencies and lies... i was very disappointed in Brit because i've always liked him... but the debates nailed it for me... no more FOX News--at all... sticking with any part of FOX News is like tolerating RINOs... you don't need them... they need you... but you have no leverage when you keep letting them treat you the way they have... they have betrayed their followers... we need to stop letting them get away with it... as i've been saying, when we continue to watch them, it's as though we suffer from battered wife sydrome...

We got rid of our cable a year ago. We still have a TV hooked up to HDTV rabbit ears. I never thought my husband would go through with it. There was always sports on my TV. He mentioned just a few days ago that he doesn’t even miss it. It’s crazy! It took awhile but honestly, our life runs so much better without it! We NEVER watch TV. The kids watch cartoons and videos and we rent movies every once in awhile. I LOVE it!!

Maybe one of Edward's "two Americas." One whose frame of reference for "normal" is shaped, formed, and informed by popular media culture, and the other America whose "normal" barometer is not. People find a whole different world when they drop TV. In 20 years, we've only had rabbit ears where I live. We cannot fathom watching "regular" TV for more than a few minutes in a day. I can imagine resorting to it if I was either colossally bored, or enjoying binge of hedonism. I could do that for a few days, with a big box of bon-bons and popcorn, set lose with a TV and a zillion stations, except even on a zillion stations, there's never anything any good on! *sigh*

did anybody hear the clips Rush played today--Charlie Rose and Tom Brokaw, John Meekam (sp?) and couple of other guys? i was away today so i couldn't keep up with FR... i'm surprised i don't see much of anything on this thread about the audio clips... this is what was said by Tom Brokaw:

he is elusive... i don't know Obama's worldview... i don't know what he reads... i don't know his heroes...

his resume is thin...

someone else asked something like, "have you ever seen a victory speech where there was only one person on the stage? no adoring wife and children... it was about how Obama was all alone on the stage during the victory speech... his family was escorted off... Biden wasn't there--locked away in a bar somewhere... he's singular... managaing his own spectable... something about Obama being manipulative...

how Obama seems to be aware that the creature he has created my not even exist...

someone said something like: his slightly creepy cult of a personality makes me uncomfortable...

i can't believe more people on this thread aren't talking about this... unless i missed it...

The dollar is rising because Europe is in worse shape. All this money the fed is pumping in will jack prices. This frozen lending crap is nonsense. There is money.
When the fed starts begging for people to buy Treasuries to fund the next round of congressional happy horse-—t the rates will rise. Start to watch not the rates but the yield curve.

“That is not the case now”

‘Now’ is not the issue it is what is coming.

I think Rush has played that particular clip several times. I didn’t get to hear it yesterday- work insists on interfering with unfettered FReeping and Rush listening; but IIRC, Rush played some of these clips that were made before the election, on Monday or Tuesday and talked about hedging their bets to complain when 0 was elected.
