(CNN) — Randy Scheunemann, a senior foreign policy adviser to John McCain, was fired from the Arizona senator's campaign last week for what one aide called "trashing" the campaign staff, three senior McCain advisers tell CNN.

One of the aides tells CNN that campaign manager Rick Davis fired Scheunemann after determining that he had been in direct contact with journalists spreading "disinformation" about campaign aides, including Nicolle Wallace and other officials....

She and her image have taken a beating among the masses, but not among Conservatives. In fact, the media still isn't finished beating up on her and blaming her for McCain's loss as the last top of the hour radio news broadcast featured yet another Palin attack.

She now has experienced a trial by fire and should be a lot stronger and more wise for it. Now she has a few years to work on her negatives and build upon the loyalty she earned the hard way by taking some of the lowest shots I've ever seen. I hope she uses the time wisely.

For a man (McCain) who purports to be a man of character, he apparently is a poor judge of it.

I honor McCain for his sacrifice during the Vietnam War. I believe he honors, above all, loyalty and thus he would react harshly to what he considered disloyalty. I have no problem with someone controlling their own staff but my problem with McCain is that I question to what he is loyal. He says he loves the country and I don’t doubt that. But I think he actually might have a higher loyalty to the U.S. Senate than to any other entity and he believes that peace in the Senate is the best way to be loyal to the country at large. But when the Senate is being run by Dem partisans at the expense of the nation, that is a false loyalty. He has run an honorable campaign and will return to accolades in the Senate but he does so at the expense of conservative principles and bedrock American values.

Get your head out and read the damn article before you cast aspersions.

This guy is a Palin supporter, being fired for being a Palin supporter. The guys who are Carl's friends are McCain aides who weren't fired and whom McCain hasn't disavowed to date.

Yep, it seems as though the “political GOP professionals” don't like Palin as they can't control her and they have their ow “stable of candidates” anyhow. The party establishment has got to destroy her and any supporters. That's my take anyhow.

Making RINO Hall of Fame member’s famous appeals to me.

In Florida, I’ll suggest Martinez who voted against drilling and for the bail out.

I'm confused too. This from the story:

Senior campaign officials blame Schuenemann specifically for stories about the way Wallace and chief campaign strategist Steve Schmidt mishandled Palin's rollout — stories that the campaign says threw them off message in the critical final weeks of the campaign.

What does this mean?

Probably was the Palin leaker too!

Trust me, being fired one week before the end of the campaign is not the real toll exacted here. This Randy guy will neverwork in a GOP campaign again. His reputation (highly valued in hiring campaign staff) is now shot. After enduring months of a grueling national campaign in hopes of a cushy fed job or in hopes of signing on to another campaign using his national experience as a calling card is basically over.

The story is that he defended her by telling to the media about the infighting she was facing in the campaign. He was initially fired, but then was unfired by McCain almost immediately when he found out about it.

Cleared up now, everybody?

Governor Palin is like a young Michael Jordan. The talent is there, and just needs to be developed

Next time she won't have to drag some old white RINO across the finish line. She'll be the one topping the ticket. Watch out all you other contenders. Ya know they call her Sarah Barracuda in Alaska.

There were stories about Palin being reigned in and not allowed to talk as she wanted to. I’m assuming this was part of that leak.

The leak concerning Palin’s apparent “stupidity” were only released last night by Carl Cameron. These weren’t known leaks until one day ago, and weren’t for being “pro-Palin” in nature, right?

McCain hasn’t fired these people or disavowed their comments, whoever they are. Carl called them, “unnamed McCain sources.”

Well it’s true.
They were going to continue to leak stories about her all important wardrobe and continue to claim she was going ‘rogue’.
So if he was defending her and leaking stories about the way they mishandled her I guess he did throw them off message.

"The talent is there, and just needs to be developed."

I think Sarah would figure out what she needed to know very quickly...that's her talent.

A leader/manager doesn't need to know the mechanics of the job, that's what the lieutenants are for. A leader manages situations and environments and delegates his/her aides to do the hands on work.

One of our best leaders ever - Ronald Reagan - was a delegator. He provided the international PR, and communicated with the people. He represented all the people of the U.S., and didn't waste his time "crossing the aisle" to kiss up to radical democrats.

Palin is a leader, and she connects with the people...period.

This morning Fox News leaked stories from McCain’s staff saying that Palin was “stupid” and giving examples, such as not knowing Africa was a continent, not a country, and not knowing what countries were in North America. I discount these stories as back-biting by RINOs who became her enemies during the campaign. They know that if she is the candidate in 2012 they are out.

And, I recall another President, our 40th, the media liked to label as “stupid.” What I would give to have another 8 years of that brand of stupidity.
