GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin took some heat Wednesday from two of Pennsylvania's top political leaders.
Democratic Gov. Ed Rendell told business leaders at a postelection breakfast that John McCain would have had a better chance of winning Pennsylvania with a different running mate, and U.S. Sen. Arlen Specter, a GOP moderate, rejected the idea that the Republican party might belong to Palin.

I tried to read this any number of ways, but maybe it’s my marginal retardation.
There is a whole area between Philly and Pittsburgh that is not rural, but more Harrisburg (capital area) suburbia. This includes the are where the marginally retarded Army War College is housed, in Carlisle. It includes the Naval Depot in Mechanicsburg, where I live. Corporate offices for companies such as Footlocker and Rite Aid are here.
I worked for the campaign, and not only did I work with two former Hillary supporters but also with some great people involved in the Carlisle Trucking Industry and with some awesome hardworking students from Messiah and Dickinson Colleges.
Looking at the electoral map, most of PA went red, except counties near Philly and then Allegheny and Centre County. So, where do the rest of us marginally retarded voters come in?
And so it will remain until she signs an affidavit swearing she'll never run for office again, and never again scare the shit out of them by offering an alternative to their wisdom and authority.
Perhaps a 3rd party would be best for Conservatives.
If Rendell or Specter are our nominee in 4 years, they won't have my vote. This is unacceptable.
McCain was quick to discipline his campaign staff for dissing Obama. When’s he going to do the same for his own RUNNINGMATE fer cryin’ out loud?
I for one am not interested in a candidate to appeal to any Democrats. To me we need a candidate that will run as a conservative and on a conservative message- and the truth of the message will fire up the conservative base. If the conservative message reaches independents and even democrats- that will be great. We just don't need any more candidates that will reach so far left they lose the conservatives. We keep trying that and it keeps failing.
Republicans keep trying to dump the conservatives and each time they think the country has moved far enough left they try it and fail. The answer is not to go left- anyone that wants to go left will vote D. We need the conservatives, need to admit that and find a candidate that will get their support. No more RINOS. I am not saying Jindal, Sanford or Cantor are RINOS- I don't know enough about them- but you presented them as appealing more to the indies and dems than Palin and that is the wrong direction.

The Republican Party has spent tens of millions of dollars and countless hours bringing conservatives into the tent.
Conservatives should study how The (New) Conservative party of Canada did it in Canada.
Basically, They started another party, the Reform party, later renamed the New Conservative party of Canada, then merged with the remaining conservatives from the old party, forcing the blue liberals, the equivalent to our Northeastern Rockefellers, out.
Yep, ultimately politics is marketing and sometimes you have to change the brand name and logo.
Switched a lot of party IDs too. they don't want to see that again, if they can help it.
The media was extremely effective in framing Gov Palin as the new Dan Quayle.
Neither of whom were anything like their media caricatures.
The McCain campaign bungled her roll out-Couric, Gibson ??
Why not just let Olbermann or Al Queda define her ?
The sobering ,but, realistic fact is the Obamamedia trumped conservative talk radio and the net.
They recreated Palin into a toothless rustic from the backwoods gnawing on a moose carcass for fun.
With the ham handed help of the McCain campaign.
The only elected Republican I’ve seen in years actually willing to stand up to the media
and the Democrats is Gov Palin.
And she can actually communicate - a rarity among the usual Republicans.
Which is why she is so beloved by conservatives.
Her PR rehabilitation should be one of the highest priorities of the RNC.
And if they won’t help her , they do so at their peril.
Only if they want to be maginalized forever.
I wouldn’t piss on Rendell, Specter or McCain if they were on fire. In fact it wouldn’t take much encouragement to set any one of those a-holes on fire.
Might be the way to do it but the country is so divided between the two parties that a competitive party might not be able to accomplish it, anymore than third parties have been able to accomplish anything except be spoilers for their philosophical allies. The Dems did it with PACs and 527s and I think that would probably accomplish a lot if conservatives vowed to starve the party and let the PACs and 527s hand out the money and/or support.
Absolutely! For every RINO that jumped ship Palin brought ten conservatives to the voting booth for McStain.
I think McCain was LUCKY to have Gov Palin...she brought his numbers up and his base as well.
You know, until you mentioned this, I was struggling to descibe my feelings.
I felt anger, that this nation could elect a capitalist hating Marxist traitor, I felt mournful, we just lost our nation as we know it, and I felt terrible, sad for what Sarah Palin went through, torn to pieces by lying media traitorous media.
But I feel no loss at all for McCain. Nothing. He just goes back to being what he always was, a rino.
And now these RINO's are getting me angry for attacking Palin.
We need to start a NEW Republican party. Perhaps we can convince Sarah to write a new constitution for our new party, then we can get the ball rolling.
