Here, I'll start.

One of my employees (salary under $30,000) said she doesn't expect Obama to keep his tax cut pledge and would be ok paying another $2,000 in taxes per year.

One other person declared that this campaign had nothing to do with race and was offended that anyone would make a suggestion that it was.

Today in my shop I'm talking to my Cop friend who stopped to Chit Chat when no sooner this black woman walks in to talk to him. She is trying to get a work at a day labor place and says because of Obama’s winning last night the White Manager won't send her out on jobs, Unbelievable.......

My Obama supporter neighbor called this morning to report her two donkeys missing. They went out to pasture yesterday and didn't come home last night....so for us to keep an eye out for them.

She added that they were so excited at Obama winning, they probably went out partying.

ARRRRRRRRGH!

Well, I sent the article "The I want my Mommy election" to my 41-year-old (libertarian) son. I seldom send him anything political because of our political differences...here's what I got back:

I’ve endured these political emails for the entire election season (and it’s been a hell of a long one this time) and now it’s over and yet they still come.

About 90% of the emails have been outright false (as verified on Snopes.com) and many have just been ridiculous, yet I’ve bit my tongue and just deleted them.

Well, the election is now over and Obama won. I wasn’t particularly thrilled with either of the candidates, but you have to make a choice.

Whether your candidate won or lost, you have to give the winner the opportunity to fail or earn your trust. (Those of us that voted against Bush for the previous two elections know that all too well…here’s hoping Obama does a better job there). In fact, in John McCain’s amazing concession speech from last night he reiterates this very well.

All that said, can you remove me from the political emails that aren’t at least somewhat factual or containing some serious points of discussion?

In exchange, I promise to be the first one in line 4 (or 8) years for you to say “I told you so” if Obama f**ks it up even half as bad as Bush.

Deal?

I reminded him that I very rarely send him anything political, but that he wouldn't have to worry about ever receiving anything else, nor would he ever hear "I told you so" from me.

This is all I needed today!

As I was jogging today, I witnessed some dumbass honking at Obama yard signs as he/she/it drove by them.

I have not heard from any family or friends who supported Obama, but just sent out the following to everyone on my mailing list. I did it mainly for the Obama supporters I know because I want to touch base with them FIRST! Just want them to remember right off how HAPPY and Proud my sweetie and I are that we stand with 56+ other Americans who voted AGAINST Socialism/Communism! We are ready to fight on for our Constitutional freedoms and free market Capitalism! In two years we have another chance to get rid of RINO’s again and in four years we will have victory if we keep on keeping on! What I sent to family and friends:

Hi!
Just in case you might be wondering how James and I are feeling today, I thought I would just drop a note.
We are doing just fine and will continue to carry on knowing that we stood strong and voted for our conservative values along with over 56 million other Americans. We feel happy and proud to be among those 56+ million Americans who believe in our Constitutional freedoms and free market Capitalism!
We are disappointed that so many Americans decided to vote for Socialism/Communism, but we know that once they realize what big government/Socialism brings they will change their minds and vote again to preserve Constitutional freedoms and free market Capitalism.
So James and I will continue to look forward to the future and will continue to pray that our Constitutional freedoms remain intact during the next four years!

A co-worker Obamunist insisted today that the Latino vote was conservative and would help Republicans in the future and that the county map in Texas proved that.

This is from a friend growing up. Not the election, but Prop 8 (Homo Marriage Ban) in CA.

“I can’t believe Prop 8 failed. Shame on you religion. Shame on you Mormons.” (He’s an ex-Mormon, turned Atheist)

The best quote of the day, a joke from another friend.

“How do you know when you’ve walked into a gay bar? The guy next to you asks if he can push in your stool.”

I know. I know. Mod?

This from one of my brothers:

So I was walking around DC last night after Obama won, and a reporter stopped me and asked, “Are you glad that after 8 years we have a new president.”

To which I responded, “yeah I'm glad the constitution was followed and that no one is serving more than two terms as president.”

He immediately turned to talk to someone else. I don't think that was the answer he was looking for.

My wife had a rather satisfying experience with an Obama Gloater at her karate (Tang Soo Do) class.
My wife is a 4th level red belt (one level below black), the Obama supporter a beginner yellow belt. The Obama supporter was gloating throughout the class when the instructor called her and my wife to the front of the class and had my wife “demonstrate” various self defense moves on the Obama supporter. My wife said it was a very therapeutic experience.

Called a lefty secularist quasi-atheist vegan friend/customer of mine this morning for my business. We've known each other a long time and the conversations are often political. The first words out her mouth, "So you want to slash your wrists today?" To which I responded that my concern was for the unborn. She sighed loudly. I could almost hear her eyes rolling.

"He's the most radical pro-abortion candidate in history. It's true. It's what he believes," I said.

"It's also what I believe," she said, as though the mere weight of her opinion would shame me for having criticized Obama.

"Well, I pray that you are enlightened by the Truth." I said

"No, I pray that it is you who are enlightened," she said.

The conversation came to an abrupt end because a coworker of hers was arriving and it was obvious to both of us that this was about to spiral into an inappropriate exchange during a business call. It was tense but all business from then on.

I had a 5$ bet with my wife on the election. I lost. While we were out shopping today she hit me up for the money in the check out line. I gave her 3$, and then gave 2$ to the lady standing behind us. I said “I’m only looking out for the people coming up behind us, It’s not fair that you won and she didn’t, so I’m just you know, spreading the wealth around.” The lady looked at me like I was insane and gave me the 2$ back...I kept it. Of course then I had to use it toward the money for the groceries...but it was the principle of the matter.

One girl at work told me that when people go to the polls, they just vote on if the person is a Democrat or a Republican. This was in front of me and two others. I turned towards her and said "That is BS. When I vote, I vote on who a person is, what their character is, what experience they have or have not had etc." She then said that she has voted Democrat all her life and she did not care who it was, even if it was an Arab running for Democrat. I think that girl is 25 and a complete airhead.

My liberal leaning lesbian boss normally puts a quote of the day in the morning on the dry erase board. Want to guess whose quote she used from last nights election to put on the board? That's right. Barack Hussein Obama!!

Another co-worker of mine said that she would have loved if Palin was a Democrat. I asked why. She said because she is a woman and she is for human rights. I asked then why did she not vote for her? She said because she is a Republican.

Notice how I have brought up all instances of people at my job? Well, when you are in the most liberal county in Texas (travis), this is what you get.

When the economy slows and you have need for one less worker, I am sure you know who to terminate.

I had to put up with a french coworker saying how wonderful it is we’re going to put out of the middle east (boy is she in for disappointment) and saying how it’s going to be “a long time, a very long time, a looooong time” before the economy is back on track. She’s probably fully aware 0 will tank the economy harder than a terrorist attack, heck it started today, but she thinks that if democrats set expectations low enough they can try to blame the coming depression on Bush. Fact is that it doesn’t have to be last for years if the right steps are taken now, but I could never get her to admit that, let alone that true conservatism is the answer that would save us.

Tell her she's free to write checks payable to the U.S. Treasury anytime she wants, for any amount.

I lost a $20.00 bet with a guy I work with.
When I hand the $20 bill to him, I’ll be telling him that Obama will be taking a lot more $20 bills from him in the very near future.
