"I think she’ll run for a second term as governor in 2010"

I agree. For here career and family's sake.

"...and then she’ll run for President in 2012. America needs her in the White House!"

I disagree. She should stay in Alaska. Losers never make good candidates in the "run again" thing. Example: George Allen, Rick Santorum, Michael Steele, Pat Toomey, Mike Huckabee, Mitt Romney... all would be losers. There would need to be new blood and dynamic Conservativism. I would add that as the women's vote turned out, that it would also need to be a man...both candidates. Sarah Palin was a star, but more of celebrity stardom than serious contender as was evidenced by 'conservative' men and women's view of her.

What needs to happen is that Palin be allowed to be herself in the coming primary season.

We on the other hand, must take control of the GOP primary and tell the MSM to "Phak off" when they try to choose our candidate like they did this year.

We really have no one to blame but ourselves.

I agree that she will carry more weight as a governor than as a minority Senator.

Unless the Obama administration implodes before 2012 the Republican challenger will fight a losing battle to unseat him.
It will probably be better for her to plan on 2016.

Governor Palin deserved much better than she got and deserves better than being exiled (politically) back to Alaska. She was without a doubt a true gift from the north, an Aurora Borealis that glimmered in the night sky. She excited the base, invigorated newcomers and taunted the stuffed shirts of the Beltway.

It’s awfully hard for her to be on Meet the Press, Face The Nation and This Week if she is in Alaska. London would even work better. She needs to work on some things. Her vocabulary is suspect, for one thing (She kept saying that Obama would “bankruptcy” (sic) the coal industry for example.

She should work out her term in Alaska, and set up trade missions to Europe and South America and Russia.

She needs to visit her troops in Afghanistan and Iraq

Based on this election cycle, she will have to start campaigning full-time.

She needs to write a book about her experiences balancing being a woman, a wife, and a public servant and another book called “Uncle Trig” written from the perspective of Bristol’s baby. (a real tear jerker)

Then she goes on a national book tour.

If Sarah has any future in national Politics, she needs to bone up on topics like national security and economics. Perhaps a group of advisers to get her able to speak on the subject well. She needs to shed the image the press has placed on her, of being out of her league.

Republicans could sure use a well spoken person, with the ability to have instant recall of facts and figures to prove his point. Someone like, Newt I guess.

Sarah Palin should go to Alaska and stay there. This country doesn’t deserve people of her caliber.

Palin should stay in AK. It's where she can do the most good. The state supports her. If she tries for the Senate, first, it will be a demotion, and, second, there's little a Senator in the minority (probably for our lifetimes) can do, one vote out of a hundred, a minority vote to boot.

We've probably seen the last of Sarah Palin on the national scene. When you're part of a national ticket that gets slaughtered this badly, there's really no where to go. Look at some of the illustrious landslide-losing VPs from the past, William Miller, Sargent Shriver, Dan Quayle, Geraldine Ferraro. Not exactly a Hall of Fame of political winners.

I agree with this. She should wait, stay Governor and then run for President. No senate seat for her, please.

I agree, snippy! Sarah Palin for President in 2012. Looking forward to hearing a lot more about Gov. Bobby Jindal as well.

She should run for reelection, continue to be a spokesman for American energy independence and stay out of presidential politics. She has been Qualyed. We need to start over with new candidates, Jindal and Sanford comes to mind, but there are probably others in the wings. As good as Sarah was for the McCain campaign she was not ready for the national stage and was handled horribly. She was rushed to market and is now damaged goods as far as President is concerned. However as a spokesperson for conservative values and as get out the vote person for candidates I think she has a great future.

My dream ticket for 2012: Sarah Palin/Glenn Beck! Why? Because leaders who have a true knowledge of our United States’ Constitution, and who live their lives practicing conservative values is what our country needs.

“she already has national experience. you can’t say nobody has heard of her”

I agree with you, but that’s the excuse her opposition used and it worked, didn’t it?

This is 1976 all over again. We have a socialist President, got more than 50% of votes. He will screw up the economy so bad that people will love Bush years and long for the times back to capitalism. Sarah will be ready with another 4 years of executive experience and unleashed from the MCCain mill around her neck. If she chooses, Jindal, then she can get all the minority Asian votes in NY,NJ,CA and MidWest.
She will be a Reagan with LIPSTICK on.

Agree with your analysis. She is now damaged goods as a candidate through no fault of her own. That said, she can be an invaluable tool on the media and banquet circuit as a spokesperson for conservative causes and family values.

I know she’ll be getting a letter from me thanking her for the beautiful display of Grace and my request for her to run in 2012.

Losers never make good candidates in the "run again" thing.

Ronald Reagan started running in . . . 1968? Then 1972, right? Something like that. He didn't win the nomination until 1976.

But I'm open to the argument that things are different now, maybe because media saturation makes us sick of the non-winning candidate before his time. What do you think?
