A few readers have asked whether I think Sarah Palin will run for the Senate in the future. I think that would be a mistake, for several reasons, not the least of which is that, if successful, the decision would take an unique and popular outside-the-beltway executive and put her inside the Beltway as one of 100 legislators voting on every bill that comes down the pike.
For now, I hope Sarah Palin gets to take a vacation and spend some much-deserved time with that beautiful family. Her experience these past four months must have been simultaneously exhilarating, supremely frustrating, and thoroughly exhausting.
I hope Palin runs for a second term as governor and is reelected. This seems like a likely scenario.

I think she’ll run for a second term as governor in 2010, and then she’ll run for President in 2012. America needs her in the White House!
SARAH PALIN, 2012!!!
I agree with this. She should wait, stay Governor and then run for President. No senate seat for her, please.
Agreed. Running for senate would be a step backwards and in effect would be a demotion.
God Bless Sarah Palin and her family.
I will be watching for Palin 2012!! If it was not for her, the popular vote would NOT have been as close. I was not thrilled to vote for McCain (would have done it anyway) but was inspired to vote for them when Palin was put on the ticket.
Agree - I would rather her remain Governor of Alaska than to go to that cesspool in D.C.
Yeah, but she definitely needs to stay in the national light as much as possible. The GOP needs to make her one of its top spokespeople, offering a critique of the “change” in DC that she sees.
I think it’s obvious that the libs are going to interpret this election the wrong way and force through a radical left wing agenda that will take many of Barack’s supporters, especially among the taxpayer class, by surprise.
The GOP needs someone to articulate the Republican view in an unpretentious manner and someone who will attract viewers. Other than Gov. Jindal, we don’t exactly have a deep bench.
..but I will sure miss her smiling face & courage...God bless her.
Does anyone know if she's already returned to Alaska?
Glenn Beck had an interesting voice mail from Gov Palin on his show this morning. Apparently she had to call into his show herself because none of her handlers would/could. The effect is that she was totally boxed in, filtered and mishandled by the McCain campaign.
If true that’s really sad.
I agree. I think Governor Palin needs to put together her team for a run in 2012 and I think that is best done in Alaska.
She needs to find people who know what Conservative principles are and how to work with her. She is the real deal and just needs some time to come back strong.

That's the inescapable conclusion. Palin and McCain have been openly struggling over the direction of the campaign for weeks now - at least since the decision to pull out of Michigan.
She will then get the "experience" that the LSM and dems claims she lacked, and McCain can help her.
She could still stay in the spotlight that way, while gaining more DC "knowliedge".
I concur wholeheartedly...PALIN for 2012!!!...stay Governor of Alaska for now. And for God’s sake Alask, replace Stevens with someone outstanding...oh say...Mr. Palin. =)
Agreed. And she can continue to be a thorn in Obama’s side.
I hope she takes the helm of the RNC and purges the republican party of all the RINO’s
SARAH PALIN, 2012!!!
Where can we get that on a bumber sticker ?
I think it would be fun to watch her shake up the Senate. Besides, then she’d get past this charge of not having ‘national experience’. The only ones that make it through the prez primaries are senators, in case you haven’t noticed.
The presstitutes will continue their efforts to destroy her. The certain-to-be-corrupt Obama “Justice” department (under attorney general Bill Clinton) will launch some bogus investigation, and bring trumped-up charges against Palin. The left will render her unelectable.
I’m sorry we won’t be able to see Piper anymore. What an angel.
