I didn’t notice the much vaunted “youth vote” at my polling place. I was the youngest one there (as usual) and I’m just four years shy of 40.

I thought the election was just a formality. Could Dems be experiencing a false sense of inevitability?

Yeah, I caught some of that. It was Major Garrett. He also mentioned polling in Indiana last night had Obama down 5, which is why he was there today for one last push.

No BS 7-10+ Dem voter turnout. Electorate is predominantly GOP! Obambi's and Dems goose may be cooked. What happened to the Obama landslide we were all hearing about?

Fauxbama has banked on Miami, it doesn’t show for him, it won’t even be a contest in FL.

I glad to read that, but I don’t know if it’s true. I voted this morning in Northern Virginia in a district that includes Mount Vernon and some lower income areas too. Whereas it took me not 15 minutes to vote in 2004, this time it took an hour and a half. I was in a line that snaked through an elementary school for about 300 yards, and in my judgment not 1 in 20 of the people standing in line with me were likely McCain supporters. Seriously, most appeared to be yutes — one holding his skateboard — and minorities.

Obama campaign so worried about turnout in Virginia and Missouri that they are activating "backup" volunteers to make calls from home.

I hope the gist of the report is true, but this statement is just plain silly.

What exactly would they be saving "backup volunteers" for? Next week's election?

PRICELESS allegory. I couldn’t have said it better myself.

Incidentally, I just got back from voting. I was number 320. That’s really not a lot for my district. I was the only one there, too. AND I live in a very, VERY Democratic area (Western New York). It could be that there will be an influx after work hours, but still, I was expecting more based on the media’s hyperventilating reports.

Most democraps are just waking up

I used to take calls from SSI recipients. They'd start after noon. Social Security Retirement people would be on the phone at 7:00 AM.

If you are GOP, and not a troll, get to the polls. Any trouble, spend the time to report it.

It will be worth it in the end. At least you can sleep tonight knowing you did all you could.

Time to find that next gear and put this thing away. Everyone votes. Spread the word!

P.S. Starting to rain at decent clip here in the DC area...

We were talking about this at my office today. When I voted this morning, there was no one under 30. I also asked everyone here who I know voted in different precincts, and they reported the same thing. I find this encouraging.

I hear ya, Rose! It's ridiculously slow. I thought new servers were installed, no?

Took me 15 minutes to vote today in Southern CT. I even parked right in front of the school where I voted. Of course, a Republican voting in CT is like bring an accordion to a war.

Can the Dems call those voters sleeping in a drunken stupor on their park bench? Or, is the problem is that there is only one phone in the prison set up to receive calls?
