PRICELESS allegory. I couldn’t have said it better myself.

Incidentally, I just got back from voting. I was number 320. That’s really not a lot for my district. I was the only one there, too. AND I live in a very, VERY Democratic area (Western New York). It could be that there will be an influx after work hours, but still, I was expecting more based on the media’s hyperventilating reports.

I’m kind of the opposite ... I voted this morning in Warren County, OH (25 miles north of Cincinnati). One of the reddest of red Ohio counties. The lines were unprecedented. Easily 5x as many folks there when the polls opened than in 2004. GOP turnout is through the roof.

I had a similar experience.

My district is in the suburbs west of Denver that's been leaning Democrat. I've usually voted in the morning, waited in long lines, and anticipated that again today. But this morning, I could count the number of people ahead of me on one hand and still have fingers left. The place was dead.

Voting in urban blue area- red precinct. I was number 300-something at 7:45am. Polls had only been open since 6. A lot of serious McCain/Palin voters. And it was pouring rain, too.
