Update on PA (Vanity, Good Source)
11/4/08

Posted on 11/04/2008 10:30:11 AM PST by Undertow

You can choose to believe me or not...I can only pass on what I'm hearing

But I have a VERY close source working inside the PA Republican Party and just talked to this person a few minutes ago...

McCain is winning BIG in Western and Central PA. It seems coal country is pissed at 0's comments over the weekend...

No data on the East

Of course, it's only 1:30 and things can change...

So keep voting Freepers and PUMAs. Keep encouraging your neighbors and family to GOTV!!!!

at least the black panthers are NOT blocking voters in central and western Pa

LOL, in my neighborhood (pop 20k) in central PA, it's hard to find anybody black, much less a Panther!

How is it going. We have had the heaviest turnout in Murrysville that I can remember. By noon over half the Sardis district registered voters had voted. The mood was exceptionally serious. The district is generally conservative with some recent infiltration of the “afluenza” vote.

I don’t worry about McCain in an honest election, but with Black Panthers blocking doorways in Philly saying they will make certain a black man wins this election, when 19 people are registered yet 21 vote in Dixville Notch, when judges in PA keep GOP poll watchers out and the same thing is going on in NH, then I worry...

We’re right outside Harrisburg too, and our turnout is also very high. Good news for the team.

Hope you come out to the victory party tonight - I’ll be wearing the Palin Power shirt!

Can you do us all a favor and supress your impulse to be a prick just for, say, the next 24 hours?

In 24 hours I doubt we'll ever see or hear from Steve-b again. All his hard work for the Obamessiah will have been in vain.

Long lines averaging one hour wait from the precinct I was assigned to watch from opening until my shift ended at noon. This is not my home precinct, but it is close enough that I know quite a few people from work, professional and social relationships.

There are more than a few registered as Democrats who I know are more conservative than me. I really think the moderate Democrat named John McCain has a chance running as a Republican. Even the Obama counterpart (a hippie looking 30ish lady) was pleasant and gave up keeping up with the names because the people were being moved through so efficiently. She was just doing hatch marks based on party affiliation and calling them in periodically. I thought it was irregular to ask party affiliation during a general election, but I think the little old ladies were just being accomodating.

Sidenote re the actual process:

a) wait in line, of course
b) show state picture ID to one poll worker
c) he and another worker verify name/addy, each on their own separate copy of the elector list
d) sign the list at my name
e) one worker scans machine card to validate for one voting session
f) vote each individual candidate electronically, submit ballot
g) return card to poll worker to be swiped (degaussed) for use by next guy

ACORN's criminal sh!t just don't fly 'round here.

they said this is the heaviest turnout that they have ever seen. Looks good for McCain/Palin.

I lived most of my life in PA, and I have been disappointed so many times with the results there. I told myself that this time I would not even hope for a victory there. But here I go again. Please God Please.

I live in Lancaster County and the area unfortunately seems to be moving more toward the democrats. Conservatives in this area are becoming a “silent” majority.

Lancaster County has a large population of homegrown voters but we are also seeing a large influx of transplants as Philadelphia moves west and New York moves south.

My emotions have swung wildly during this campaign. I feel very few people feel threatened by Obama as they should. Obama does seem to have younger women that I am acquainted with interested in voting that have not voted before. On the flip side, my brother registered to vote for the first time and he will be voting for McCain.

Overall my perspective is Lancaster on a percentage basis will go higher for democrats this year than in the past. If this is the case I hope that gains in Western and Central Pennsylvania can offset these gains. Hopefully I am wrong and I will remain optimistic.

Even if McCain wins I worry for our country. The left seems to go unchallenged on corruption. Our local Republican party is moving toward RINO status and corporate welfare is running rampant.

I’ll continue to fight against the odds.

But those folks with local Democrats’ signs have those signs out alone (only being paired with an Obama sign perhaps 15% of the time)

I'll totally vouch for Petronski's observation.

Excellent description of what I've seen all over Union and Northumberland counties.

It is important that folks not get discouraged about the early returns from Pennsylvania.

In 2004, and I'm guessing it will be the same this time, Philadelphia returns came in early. Kerry was leading 2-to-1 in Pennsylvania well into the night, before non-urban returns came pouring in. The final Kerry margin in PA was 2.5%.

He carried Philadelphia by more than 400,000 (542,000 to 130,000), but took the state by only 145,000 (2,938,000 to 2,793,000).

You know the guy at the party who makes a complete idiot of himself? The guy who thinks he's smarter and more clever than everyone else but is really a sad embarrassment? The guy that most people avoid or be polite to and move away? The guy that everyone else look at each other and give the "ignore the laughable idiot" look?

I'm going to let you in on a little secret.

You're THAT guy.

when 19 people are registered yet 21 vote in Dixville Notch

You're implying that somebody is orchestrating a fraudulent manipulation of a one-room election that is watched by national and even world media, for the purposes of tilting the results in New Hampshire by two votes?

Please, lie down until the fever goes away.
