On the Ground In Battleground OH

First, I don't have numbers. This is just a report based on phone contacts with other people at "red" polling places and with Montgomery County (Dayton) GOP. (Kerry won this county by 2% in 04)

1) ALL the red precincts were extraordinarily heavy until about noon. Some finally calmed down. Turnout was at very, very high levels. 3x the wait time of 2004.

County GOP says we're hearing this from all our red areas.

2) Better news: many of the Dem and African-American precincts coming in way low. They are voted out through early voting.

3) HEARING---this is hearsay from people on the ground in Warren (deep, deep red, which gave Bush his win in 04)---that Warren turnout is "massive."

The hispanic majority vote has been overplayed. If it was that big Hillary would have won.

Beautiful Ozaukee County! I’m in the SW suburbs of Milwaukee County, Greenfield. My whole family is meeting up at 3PM to vote en-masse for McCain/Palin, Paul Ryan, and to vote down that hideous sales tax increase for Milwaukee County. My sister in Mt Pleasant in Racine county (60/40 red/blue) reports she was voter 1136 at noon. That may include early votes already processed, she said.

I’m from Brook Park! I lived in a sub right by Smith and Snow.

Midpark/Polaris graduate.

I wish I was home. My McCain vote might even help. Here in MI, it’s a waste.

“Good hunting” to you and your family, I’ll throw in a prayer for all of you as well.

I do love Ozaukee, especially Port Washington where I live. I moved here from that festering toilet they call a city in Illinois (Chicago, in case you couldn’t tell). I feel like I’ve escaped from a gulag. I AM home now.

Yet another column of the BS the Media and the Fauxbama camp had been pushing in its Goebellesque propoganda campaign falls by the wayside. (Turnout would be down) They have tried their best to depress republican turnout, but turnout will be higher than 04 by 10 to 15 Million.

I was legitimately concerned about GOP turnout right up until McCain selected Palin. After that I knew we’d see 2004 levels... or better.

OK. I think GOP turnout is dead even maybe one point ahead of 2004. What is your impression? All morning, I haven't heard any reports of this ginormous black/youth voters wave pollsters said was in the offing with a 7-10+ Dem advantage turnout.

Unfortunately, Franklin County is a lost cause for us. It’s Delaware County that has me worried. Too many new Obama voters there.

If the lines are light in Franklin, I think it points up the problem in Delaware. The enthusiasm just doesn't appear to be on their side. We're scared as hell and turning up in record numbers not just in OH but around the country. The Palin factor is awesome. I don't think Obama has roused his voters like Sarah roused ours!

Good Luck to the Port Washington High School football team this weekend. I hope they beat Kewauskum.

My home town, Waupaca, is playing Lakeland, and when we beat them this weekend, we play the winner of your game, and we are hoping for Port Washington!

Posted this on a previous thread:

Reporting in from rural N Central (Morrow County) Ohio...took my daughter and son in law to vote with me this AM when the polls opened at 6:30. We vote at an American Legion Hall, and when we got there, it looked like Friday Nite $500 Bingo! I have NEVER seen so many cars! Two lines of people, out the doors and into the parking lot. It was very orderly and smooth, but it took 45 minutes to vote. (Hubby voted absentee, as he is in AZ for business conference).

McCain signs outnumber the others around here about 20 to 1, so I think this is very good news!

Thanks for the report!

Extremely heavy turn out in South Mississippi. We are deep
RED, but the turn out is an indication to me that folks are
on to the BO Marxist plans.

I stood in line for 2 hours! In 35 years of voting, I have never
seen this sort of turn out!

Well, four sections at my precinct......mine is where all the wealth will be redistributed from in Richfield......Our line was 30 deep consistantly the whole time I was there...

Got there at 7am left at 7:40am and was number 77 on my ballot counting machine (we have 4) when I was walking out the door to get our son to school the line was longer for my Area than when I went in. The lines at the other areas (B,C, D) weren't even close to what they normally are...mine(A) was a longer wait then in 2000 and our place was packed all the way around(a,b,c, and d) back in 2000.

Don't know what all of this means but I hope it's good.

Unfortunately, our oldest son won't get to vote until 2012...let's hope it's to re-elect McCain.

And LS I hope you right this time...I wasn't born in a communist country and I sure as hell don't want to die in one someday.

Thanks for the on the ground confirmation of Warren.....umbob and the spouse got in our votes early.....but turnout for our precinct was higher than in 2000 and 2004.

Everyone who's voted has done all we can for now....it's in someone elses hands now...hopefully their not corrupt ones......

The local radio news reported that turn out in the Columbus area is uncharacteristically slow...could mean they already voted early (50,000 of those in Columbus)......it also makes it hard for Brunner to keep the precinct open after 7:30 pm if no one is standing in line.....

So the early voting in these heavily ethnic districts could backfire for stuffing the ballot for Obama....tee, hee, hee, hee......
