Pat Buchanan just snatched the security blanket from conservatives and stomped on it. Contemplating the prospect of an electoral loss, some conservatives are consoling themselves by imagining that the political pendulum will soon start swinging back their way.
Buchanan doesn't think so, and his very first words on the matter this morning explain why: "demography is destiny." Buchanan offered his analysis during the opening segment of today's Morning Joe.

Buchanan says immigration will prevent political pendulum from swinging back ping to Today show list.
Yes and the immigration issue was deliberately avoided by both candidates despite the fact that it occupied 9/10 of political discussions over the last 1.5 years.
That’s ILLEGAL immigration (translated to Shamnesty), Pat.
Let’s just win this one first!
I would imagine he's simply humoring them while teasing Conservatives.
Pat does that.
Still, a clue for Pat, Deutschland LOST THE WAR.
There, somebody had to tell him that.
And he’s probably right. Be sure to thank an OBL.
Even Pat has to be somewhat PC. It's not immigration but a supplanting of cultures that is going on. The American culture is being slowly supplanted by third world cultures all over the place. Mostly hispanic. There is NO expectation of assimilation anymore.
Pat is correct. It’s exceedingly hard to roll back the liberal agenda after it is enacted. It will become impossible with 50 million new beneficiaries of liberal largess.
I read his article on Townhall today.
I can’t recall a more pessimisitic screed coming from a Conservative. (assuming that label is the correct one)
Depressing but quite possibly true...we have to reach out to immigrants (legal ones) and make sure that illegal ones do not vote. (which would probably mean we’d lose any chance with the legal ones). But when things get really bad under the socialistic, job crushing policies of the left we can make a big comeback and prove to all whose policies keep America strong.
Of course he’s right. That’s one of many reasons we have to cut back immigration. Mass immigration is a disaster politiically for the GOP, and a disaster for America.
Have you completely lost your mind ? Crimmigrants are not reproducing ? Urban teens are not reproducing ?
Why does he think the Obama has a lock on the immigrant vote?
If we’re talking Mexicans here, a good amount of them are Catholic and the church has been making no bones about what they’d like to see from Catholics as they vote. Additionally a good amount of them a conservative leaning, and lastly McCain has not been opennly hostile toward them. He’s taken a deserved beating around here for his pandering to those elements (La Raza)...
On congressional races he’s on firmer ground.
As I said before if we lose to the left today then there will never be another real election. The elections will be like the USSR, IRAQ, and all the dictator countries around the world. They will buy all the non workers and they will vote to keep their income.
May we win today or see our Constitution shredded.
Excellent point. Was there one tough question on immigration during any of the three presidential and one vice-presidential debates? How many people going to the polls today know that Obama supports drivers licenses for illegals, for example?
Stop forecasting doom!!!
What this guy is saying is that it is all over!!!
Why is it always over for conservatives?????
Why is it never over for the liberals???
This is just plain defeatist talk!!!
It is over when everyone gives up!!!
This is worthless talk! Absolutely worthless talk with a script written from the pit of hell!
That may be true for some of the leaders of the left, but they're making sure that there are plenty of people who DO have kids that are dependent on government for everything they need in life. They're setting up a dependent class that will vote themselves what ever they want.
Mark
Amnesty and chain migration will produce 10’s of millions of new dem voters. I don’t know how we overcome that.
