Is this good news or bad news? Long line at my poll...

I fortunatley go to absentee vote this year as I'm out of state today, but my wife went to vote this morning and thought she'd beat the rush and the line is super long and there is no room for parking. So my wife went home to get an umbrella.

Demographics of those waiting are white and older people. Is this good news for McCain? I've never ever had to wait in line to vote in my area...it's always been walk in and vote.

If everyone in line looks like a college student, gang member, homeless person or is over 70 then it is a bad sign.

Since Obama sent out a missive to all his followers to vote early, vote now, this might be the cross overs and the Mcainiacs who did not want to give Democrats two weeks to hide, steal or erase their votes.

Just done with voting. Voting in my polling place promises to be VERY heavy today. Before 7:00, when they opened the doors, there was a long crowd down the sidewalk outside. I have not seen this before. Quiet crowd, chatting in low-key fashion. My prescinct is white and middle class, in a small city in Iowa. The crowd was overwhelmingly middle-aged with some elderly and some younger.

We use the nice, scantron ballots that are so easy to mark and insert into the machine that sucks them in. A great system; don't know why anyone would bother with touch-screen, computerized voting when the scantron-type systems leave a paper trail and work so well in every way.

I was so nervous last night that I didn't go to bed at all; it got later and later, and I just decided I would stay up and pray, and vote as soon as the polls opened so I wouldn't worry about it all day.

I have a STRONG sense that the people in line at my polling place feel this is a true crossroads for this country. I am certain that turnout will be HUGE today, everywhere.

At least we should get a really good idea of where this country stands. I hope and pray it stands behind honesty, decency, and McCain/Palin.

Please God, let it be so. Show us your mercy, and guide our voters to a positive outcome for our country.

I agree.

Don’t under estimate the POWER of prayer. Pray that people will be prompted by the Holy Ghost to vote McCain.
There are many many hardcore Democrats who haven’t fallen for Obama but do not want to express it out loud. They have never crossed over and do not intend to now - until they get into the voting booth and our prayers work. They either leave the President slot blank or vote McCain.

If whites are indeed turning out in record numbers (remains to be seen), IMHO, it is because Obozo is a freaking Marxist Muslim Radical Racist Leftist Lying Scum, not because he is black. If say Clarence Thomas or Thomas Sowell were on the Republican ticket, I think whites would vote for either man in huge numbers.

You are correct. It's the blacks like Obama that promise a "free ride" that get angry white people out to vote. They see people like the 1 black lady in the video at an Obama rally where she says "I won't have to worry about my car payment! Or my house payment!" and THAT gets them voting, because they know SOMEBODY will have to make that lady's payments, and they don't want it to be them.

It's extremely good news. Had to wait in line for an HOUR this morning to vote. I think that the election numbers are going to be MASSIVE. Like an extra 40 million people decided to vote that otherwise wouldn't.

People are realizing what's at stake.

You are correct. I sent that clip to a few friends. One, who rents because his money is tied up in investments, was incensed! He was already going to vote, but now he will vote if he has to crawl to the poll, LOL.

It seemed to be the same reasons that we do not support him- bigger government and higher taxes, etc. They seemed like fairly typical college-educated young professionals, race aside.
