Of course, operation chaos may be lurking in the numbers.
One thing for sure, this is the end for the media.
“Would the state that elected Jesse Ventura also elect Al Franken? I hate to say it, but I think they might”
Must be all those dang Norwegian bachelor farmers.
My arse!
It's a toss up only if conservatives have given up and don't vote.
No, I think the problem in Minnesota is the esconced DFL (Democratic Farm Labor) party that was in rule for so long, Humphrey/Mondale/McCarthy but at least Humphrey probably had a rather conventional agenda. There are a lot of people that will vote Democratic because that party was for so long a part of the political landscape.
Jesse? He had a radio show and he spoke up libertarian issues like the right to bear arms if I remember correctly, I would never vote for him but it’s not difficult to see where he was coming from.
Ow, though not Al!
Yeah, but what did WE do to get Franken. Senator is a national office whereas Ventura was a local official. Franken's histrionics will affect the entire U.S. not just Minnesooota.
Hold the hot dish... this guy is a fat little joke writer. How can MN vote for him?
Mostly Barkley is pulling votes from Franken... fortunately.
See this article from 6 years ago on the old RCP, before it became politically correct, for some details:

In 2004, the Minnesota Poll has Kerry winning the state by 8; he won by 3.
The only time they were close in recent memory was the Senate race from 2 years ago, when the last poll had Klobuchar winning by 21%, and she won by 20%. I suspect that's because that's the only recent election that the Democrats were dominant in, so there was no reason for them to slant the poll.
“Those people in Minnesota really take their politics seriously. So seriously in fact that half of them want to send a comedian to Washington. Ya gotta love their sense of humor.”
I’ve almost written of Mayo as a place to go for health care. I don’t won’t a clown lover operating on me. Of course it’s where the Arab world comes for health care so they must feel comfortable in Minneysota with the mickey mouse liberals.
This is the year of the mental midget, apparently.
You’re forgeting Massholechusetts. Look at my representation:
US Senate: Kennedy/Kerry (Do I need to comment?)
US Rep: Barney Frank (Grab your anckles)
Governor: Deval Patrick (Obama-lite)
I’d take Bernie! over any of these vermin...seriously! He was against the $700B bailout.
Why not? They had an absolute joke for a governor a few years back!
McCain/Palin have a lot of support in Minnesota. It’s close to being a battleground state I think and I think I heard that from one news source. We can hope. Places like Faribault, Northfield, Hibbing, Duluth, the Suburbs. Let’s hope! Don’t talk it too down, they might surprise you. It’s the way that DFL party is so entrenched in tradition from what I can see.
May God have mercy on us.
Sorry, I don’t believe this poll. I don’t believe any polls, but especially from dinosaur media.
It was one thing to inflict Ventura on themselves. Frankly, I couldn't care less who is elected Governor of Minnesota. But each states' Senators affect everyone else. Inflicting Franken on all of us is just wrong.
Steve,
What are the chances that McCain will pull-out a victory in MN?
no dems
...and Dayton, and Klobuchar, and Wellstone, and Ellison...
