Not bad so far.
It was my understanding that McCain had cancelled an earlier appearance because of the Bail out meetings in Washington. Tonight’s SNL spot was supposed to be for Obama, but Obama didn’t accept the slot, so they offered it to McCain and he accepted.
MAC WAS GREAT!!!!
People on the right need to consider the implications of providing financial and social support to those on the Left.
It makes no sense to be nice to people who abuse you.
Libs should be shunned and made to suffer omnipresent stress.
...”but I have trouble understanding why hed appear with someone whos spent the past 6 weeks mocking his running mate, insulting her and her family, and generally abhorring every thing she stands for”
It took the players on SNL to figure outh the “real” Obama just like the rest of the country. I think SNL and McCain-Palin have “made up” now.
Did anybody else notice the weird way Affleck stared at Cindy McCain at the end of the show.
His ego will go nuts on this...Narcissists just can not handle criticism!
SNL has funny moments now and ONLY because they are hitting ‘some of their own”.
Loved it...a great acting kudo!
I didn’t even realize that was Afleck..that’s how good it was.
Guess McCain will never be perfect enough for you...Yeesh. it was a bold political move on McCain’s part..the coverage he got was worth ..well, it was priceless.
Uh, yeah, that is a good strategy...NOT.
Lets just NEVER take advantage of free million dollars worth of PR on national TV. and oh, yeah, lets never try to reframe the political landscape in our favor when we get the chance.
Lets just sit in our conservative Ivory tower and watch the Libs take over everybody that isn’t as smart as we are...instead of trying to reach out more and more to “moderates” or just people who don’t even know what conservatism is.
It’s online if you missed the opening:

We have been there, and done that. It has not worked.
For decades now.
Time for a new plan.
I was surprised at the applause Cindy McCain got. There seems to be a connection with people there.
Has O been on...or Biden? I just can’t imagine them laughing at themselves. The Alfred Smith dinner must have been one of the hardest thing O has ever done.
I wish they would have done the caterpillar eyebrows...geez I don’t even watch the guy but that drives me crazy when I see his pic.
Tina Fey was hot and funny like usual (yeah I know I’m supposed to pretend to hate her around here but tough, I like her). She didn’t do Gov. Palin any favors though.
McCain was funny and humble, came across as a nice guy with a sense of humor who can take a punch-line.
All in all, not a disaster, made me laugh, and isn’t going to chase any voters away from him.
The players of SBL didn’t “figure” anything out. Geez, how hard is this to understand- they are PAID actors and comedians. They are not really politicians. It’s not personal for most of them. It’s a job. When they pass the SNL test they eventually go on to get movie contracts and make a bazillion dollars.
My take on that was somewhat different. I think the implication was that Sarah (being portrayed as an opportunist) would be running in 2012 because John McCain was going to lose to Obama this year - and that's more what that audience was applauding. But overall, good natured, funny, no-harm-done bit and that Olberman skewering was worth staying up for alone.
