WASHINGTON - Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama said Saturday he didn't know that one of his relatives was living in the United States illegally and believes the appropriate laws should be followed.
The Associated Press found that Obama's aunt had been instructed to leave the country four years ago by an immigration judge who rejected her request for asylum from her native Kenya. The woman, Zeituni Onyango, is living in public housing in Boston and is the half-sister of Obama's late father.

In the Time story, the Obama campaign says he spoke with her a couple of years ago and knew she was in Boston, yet he didn’t know she was an illegal alien. She contributed to his campaign.
There is actually a sad story here and I know we are all a little biased against Obama but this does not reflect well on him. The records she gave 240 dollars in increments of 5 dollars. So there is an Aunt living in a slum, rooting for her nephew that really doesn’t help her or acknowledge her presence, yet she still donates money to his campaign, when she obviously can’t afford it.
She gives 5 dollars every few weeks to his campaign, yet Obama doesn’t give anything to his half brother who is living in Kenya on a dollar a week, and he doesn’t do anything to help this Aunt.
Something is not right here.
And he’s qualified to ensure national security?
“That’s not the illegal alien relative living in poverty that I knew.”
Well, at least no one can accuse Obama of providing assistance to an illegal alien, since he apparently never found a penny to get his aunt out of the projects.

This guy sure is a cold fish. Those are the kind that can "break a few eggs" without compassion. He is dangerous.

What I don’t get about the entire thing is: This guy has terrorists in his past, marxists that want to throw over the government, and the ONLY story that gets spread like a wildfire is the Aunt’s illegal status.

It says reams about the character of the man who calls us selfish cause we don’t want higher taxes. He’s too selfish to help his own family.

Onyango’s case — coming to light just days before the presidential election — led to an unusual nationwide directive within Immigrations and Customs Enforcement requiring that any deportations before Tuesday’s election be approved at least at the level of the agency’s regional directors, the U.S. law enforcement official told the AP.
The directive suggests that the administration is sensitive to the political implications of Onyango’s case coming to light so close to the election.
This means that they are going to go soft on ALL illegals until after the election because they would hate to LOSE all those ILLEGAL votes for Obama! I am disgusted with our WIMPY-ASS govt! I think we do need to have a civil war!
And that my friend sums it up perfectly, the man is not fit to be dog catcher and in that statement you have given a window into why the majority of the people on this site, have been shaking their heads every single day in wonderment as this guy has gotten closer to the Presidency.
That statement summarizes why we are so damn frustrated. Because if you are paying close attention to Obama the man, how could you vote for this guy.
Is this Aunt story even a mainstream media story? The press looked into every John McCain property he owned, yet nobody until now knew Obama had an illegal alien Aunt living in a Boston slum.

Yes another good take, and another would be that nobody that I have heard at least, has asked Obama about the Khalidi dinner, yet they ask the campaign or Obama about this Aunt.

She lives in a more dangerous neighborhood and obviously his aunt is on her own without so much as a dedication.
Hmmm, he knows Joe the Plumber’s blood type and middle school grades but doesn’t know his Auntie is an illegal alien, scamming the taxpayers by living in public housing?
