Brought home my new AR-15 yesterday. For those who don't know what that is, the AR-15 is the civilian model of the M-16 rifle. It is what one would call an assault gun. I am in my fifties, a hunter who has always had hunting rifles and shotguns. A man who has always got a sense of pride of ownership for his guns. Cherishing the thought of passing my collection on to my children.
This is different, there is no joy. In fact, I felt sadness as I drove home with my new possession. You see, I purchased this weapon as a safety precaution. Not from home invasion by criminals, not from looters, but from a possible civil war that I fear may be close to being unavoidable.
Our nation is on the precipice of falling into the darkness of socialism, not the friendly European kind, but the Nazi like type Germany experienced in the thirties. The fascist socialism that has been so cruel in history. The kind that takes from all but their favored. The kind that does not tolerate opposition and indeed crushes it. The kind that we all know inside is driven by evil rather than good.
So, bringing this gun home was a sad day, a day I would rather not remember. And, after familiarizing myself with this new weapon and becoming proficient in it's use I intend on putting it away and hope to forget about it.
But, should the day come when I need to remember, I will be prepared.
Ammo.
Lots of ammo.
And magazines.
The C Products steel body mags with CS springs and a new-style anti-tilt follower for $13. Much better that the ones that we had in the service.
Buy 'em now. Get 10 to use and 10 to sell.
correct me if I am wrong. can the AR15 be converted to full auto?
I think a comparison between today and Germany circa 1933 is apt. Not an exaggeration at all. If Obama doesn't try to realize the 60's radicals stupid revolution it will only be for a lack of opportunity.
Not easily. If you ever need full auto, a 12ga w/buck shot would be better.
"It is what one would call an assault gun."
No, that is what the press and the anti-gunners would call it. It doesn't fit the NRA or military defintion of an assault rifle or weapon.
Yes, lots of magazines. You’ll need something to read in that foxhole.
Seriesly, I need to get some 7.62 x 39 for my SKS, and right now I have no mags for it. Better start looking.
If the unthinkable horror happens, then be VERY prepared.
Will the M-14 mags fit it?
What state ya in?
Not even the same caliber. No.
God bless Sarah Palin - an NRA member who knows what she’s doing. God bless America which still produces such women. God bless all who protect this country and its liberty.
Full auto is so over rated it is not funny.
The last time I was at the KD range I had to shoot 9 of ten round at the 500 yard line in less that a minute because the target trolley malfunction and it took 8 minutes to fix it. I loaded the rifle by hand one round at a time with the magazine in place and scored all nine shots in the black (torso sized target) at 500 yards.
If I had been on full auto I might have scored one on the guy next to me’s target.
Aren’t they both .308?
No, most are .223.
The M14 is .308. The AR-15/M16 is 5.56mm (.223).

I’m in FL, home of the super duper castle law.
I don’t know about the M14 mags, never tried it.
Ar 10 the new Remington AR 25 Knights AR 25 can be 308 they also can be had in other 308 based ammo 260 243 7mm 08.
Ar 15’s and their clones are normally 223/5.62 But can be had in other cailbers also.
I have an early version... a 1971 model AR15, passed to me from my Father. I love the weapon... it is a pleasure to use. I have updated it and made it more reliable. No need to hate the weapon... use it... shoot it... enjoy it... I have been doing so for several decades.
If there is war coming... so be it... I don’t want it... but I will be a Patriot and keep GOD in my heart and do my duty for my Nation and our Founders. I pray that day never comes... but if it does... my Boy Scout training will kick in... as I live “Be Prepared”.
