Supremes asked to halt Tuesday's vote
WND ^ | October 30, 2008

The U.S. Supreme Court is being asked to help the nation avoid a constitutional crisis by halting Tuesday's election until Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama documents his eligibility to run for the top office in the nation.

Democratic attorney Philip Berg had filed a lawsuit alleging Obama is ineligible to be president because of possible birth in Kenya, but as WND reported, a federal judge dismissed the complaint claiming Berg lacks standing to bring the action.

Philip J. Berg The 34-page memorandum that accompanied the court order from Judge R. Barclay Surrick concluded ordinary citizens can't sue to ensure that a presidential candidate actually meets the constitutional requirements of the office.

Instead, Surrick said Congress could determine "that citizens, voters, or party members should police the Constitution's eligibility requirements for the Presidency," but that it would take new laws to grant individual citizens that ability.

"Until that time," Surrick says, "voters do not have standing to bring the sort of challenge that Plaintiff attempts to bring."

Oh yeah ... I’m sure David Souter will awaken Buzzy Ginsberg from her near death sleep and lead the charge on that one.

“They damn sure don’t. To have the Courts delay the elections would be judicial activism. I’m against that - even when it seems to be in our favor.”

in “our” favor?

Welcome to FR.

But this is in the news. Maybe that’s the goal? If so, well done Sir.
***That would be the big point as far as I can tell. I’d love to read the dissenting viewpoints from the Supreme Court members on this issue.

I wonder why you would sign up two weeks ago, and now be backing a position which would seem to be pro-Obama.

Yes, I wonder about that.

It’s not mocking. It’s testing.

Please explain your thoughts about Sarah Palin for readers, if you don’t mind?...

Hmm.

Thanks for sharing.

For my part, I realized the moment I first started learning about Governor Palin (right here on FR) she is potentially the future of conservative/libertarian Repubicans, and potentially a savior of our cause.

I say, for my part “our” in this case as a small-l libertarian who sees in the GOP just that, and who sees in Obama ... communism.

Yes. Communism.

Nice to chat with you.

...and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.

Wasn't very many years ago that every schoolchild memorized the entire immortal Gettysburg Address. Those words still send chills down my spine.

We are in dire peril now and that government may indeed perish from the earth in our lifetimes.

We didn’t memorize the Gettysburg adress in Texas when I went to school.

First things first.

How about we get some proof from Manchurian Obama, he’s actually legally qualified to even be president.

There’s only one body which can do that. And time’s running out.

The Supreme Court.

So let’s presume for sake of argument, Obama is legally not American as defined in the US Constitution for assuming the office of President.

So when, and how, is that ever even checked? Is it an “honor system”?

What’s to stop a complete imposter, from assuming the office??

An imposter, whose long-time acquaintances all seem to be racists, terrorists or crack heads. For whom entire YEARS of his young life are completely unaccounted for.

Just when do you suppose, we should check?...

I suppose that’s true. The words are still stirring, nonetheless.

I have to say this.

The Constitution does not say you have to have a birth certificate.

It says,

,"No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty-five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States."

It does not say how it must be proved.

If Obama is elected this would be argued forever though out his term(s).

The constitution is already toilet paper to the left in this country and grey toilet paper at that.

They see abortion in there! (I Shrug!)

Flame away while I hide under a wet blanket.

Actually, don't flame me I'm just laying down oppostions spin for the sake of debate.

Isn’t the governor in Hawaii a Republican?

You sure you’re not a mole?...

How about we let the US Supreme Court determine his eligibility, as per the US Constitution.

After all, if he’s legally qualified, that is quite simple to prove. Couldn’t be any simpler. Just show us, for crying out loud.

Call a press conference. And SHOW US.

So. Why’s he fighting such a simple thing?

It really seems Obama is very desperately hiding something.

Willing to spend quite a lot of money on high-priced lawyers in fact, to hide it.

WHAT IS HE HIDING?
