Dead People Voting Throughout Florida

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. -- Thousands of dead Floridians are registered to vote and some in Central Florida had ballots cast in their names long after their deaths.

"That is scary," said Jim Branch.

Branch's mother Marjorie died in 2004 but someone voted for her in 2006. Branch had tried to get his mother removed from the voter rolls.

"It was much easier for me calling Social Security and taking her off not getting any more checks here, than it was that (voter registration)," he sid.

County records show James Santiago voted in the 2006 general election. He too, was dead. His wife, Joann, sees this as an open invitation for voter fraud.

I do not know how true this article is because in 1999 my mother passed away and a couple months later I checked to make sure her name was off the voting records. My mom's name had been removed. I was g;ad to see that at least here in Pinellas the records are kept current.

Both my deceased parents were registered in Florida. Is there a way I can check to see that they’ve been deleted from the voter rolls ? We are able to check in VA.

...had ballots cast in their names long after their deaths.

To steal the vote, only a registered name in needed. It's why ACORN didn't care if people signed up 30 and 40 times.

I know this is off-topic, but do you know why “Night of the Living Dead,” “Day of the Dead,” etc. were horrible movies, aside from their lack of redeeming characters? Zombies are the least threatening monsters every imagined. All you have to do is walk (not even run!) away. At least ghosts are mysterious. With zombies, what you see is what you get: they move slowly and they like to eat intestines, and not much else.

Im surprised this isnt more of a wide-spread problem...

You know how hard it is to tell the difference between a true zombie and an obama supporter?

That’s how they win. Look at WA 4 years ago. There is nothing honest about them.

Barack the lawyer got each person who later died to specify in their will which party they would be voting for after their death. So all is legal.

"Elections supervisors say they are pushing the state to allow them to accept death certificates from families as reasonable evidence to remove dead voters from the rolls."

Frankly, I don't understand why each county can't send a list of deaths to election officials on a regular basis. A death certificate is issued by the county coroner for every person who dies. Those death certificates are usually recorded by the county clerk's office or Dept. of Vital Statistics. Why they can't be responsible for issuing a certified list to the required election office is beyond me. You'd think it would be such an easy system to set up and operate. It just seems like a whole lot of county offices are not following through on what should be a standard practice. I mean, it's not as if registered voters have just started dying. It's just that for some reason, their deaths are conveniently being overlooked. How else can they explain the large numbers of deceased people still being on voter rolls years after their deaths?

The article said the county board of elections used to have two people who did nothing but go through the newspaper and cut out obits. I called my county board who said they did the same thing. But I question whether that is the best way to keep track of deaths. I'd be more inclined to believe that an official list of deaths from a county coroner's office or county clerk's office would be more accurate. Besides, who's to say that some clerk in one or more of those county offices, cutting out those obits, isn't withholding some of those names and selling them for fraudulent purposes? I'm sure it happens.
