6:30 at the Show Me Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo. The line has already wrapped around nearly the whole grounds of this 6500 person venue and I realize we should have gotten here a few hours earlier. They must have given out a lot more tickets than seats. Anyway, even if we don't get in it is exciting to see thousands of cheerful Mo. McCain / Palin supporters. This is going to be a huge, genuine demonstration of confidence in the ticket.
Also people are coming in twos and threes and families. No bussed-in rent-a-crowds from Illinois like the Gateway Arch rally for The One. This is pretty amazing.
Cape Girardeu is the hometown of one Mr. R. Limbaugh.
My hometown. I didnt even know she was going there. I hope my family got the information and is there!!!
Are you in Cape?
Stupid question, of course you are....
Me, too! We could have ridden together.
Anyone have a live feed?
Drove here from Carbondale and got in at 6. Should have been here 2 hours earlier for the 8:30 event. Since my post the line is already literally out of sight. I think they are going to need closed-circuit overflow for the overflow!
Someone there plz. tell us later if they are snagging all of you when you go in or out of the event, to get you to volunteer on election day, or otherwise somehow organized outside of just the rally. That is key, I am sure they are doing it. Those are armies of foot soldiers; if they can take a few hours off work on Tuesday to volunteer to counter ACORN.
live blogging:
7:06 Hey everyone. I just got into the Show-Me Center for the rally with Gov. Palin. 7:07 Thousands of people have lined up outside waiting to get in for hours. 7:08 Several media are here from local stations, newspapers, radio stations as well as TV stations from St. Louis and Memphis. 7:09 We have a team covering the event. Lauren Keith has been outside all morning talking to folks waiting in line. 7:11 Kathy Sweeney will be traveling with Palin and other media from her hotel to the Show-Me Center. Then, we plan to have a one-on-one interview with the Governor.
Yell loud for me! I am working in Anna-Jonesboro today so close yet so far.
Heartland News showed the plane at the airport last night, the anchors seemed pretty excited.
Sarah bump!
and a thread placer
Yesterday in Bowling Green, Ohio I attended her rally. I was thrilled to see mothers, small children and college students (very liberal campus). Joe the Plumber was really welcomed by the crowd. Go Sarah!
God bless Governor Palin
And God bless the USA!!!!
Couldn’t make Sarah’s event at Bass Pro Shop parking lot in Springfield, MO last week. Reports said 20,000 people turned out.
