Obama Will Lose PA, Just Like He Did April 22, 2008

by murphy on October 28, 2008

I’m more convinced than ever. Between the race card, the sneering attitude of the media class, and the basic reflex of every American citizen to REJECT a canididate who does not represent their interests Obama will lose Pennsylvania next Tuesday. Maybe even by a wide margin. Americans aren’t stupid — Democrats aren’t stupid and neither are Republicans. There is NOTHING wrong with Kansas. This is a LIE. A lie perpetrated by the elite and esoteric theorists of the punditocracy because it is an effective goad to keep us fighting EACH OTHER rather than focusing our efforts on holding the Powers that Be accountable.

A tectonic shift in the attitude of the electorate, a great re-alignment, is underway. Don’t look to the TV for news of this shift. They won’t be talking about it until next Thursday, earliest. By Januray or February someone like Brooks or Frank will write a book titled “The Great Re-Alignment,” or some such, but we don’t need a pundit to know which way the wind is blowing.

Americans, especially Democrats, are waking up. Not, like Gregor Samsa, as Republicans (of course not!) but as unaffiliated American citizens. People who have realized that the Parties are entrenched, out of touch, and CLUELESS. Corrupt even. And did I mention spineless, self-serving, greedy, and second-rate?

We are the real Democratic Party. A few maniacs may have burned our house down, but we’re all together out here on the street, watching and waiting until we can put the fire out for good on Novemeber 4th. And then we’ll start digging a new foundation.

(Why I believe obama will lose Pennsylvania. From Hillbuzz:

In Pennsylvania, we are not alone.

The same people who ran the board for us in the primary — who assured us daily that the polls the media was pushing were wrong in claiming Obama would beat Clinton in PA — tell us on a daily basis that McCain is going to win Pennsylvania. There’s a damn good chance this won’t even be close, if what people are seeing on the ground right now holds, and is indicative of the whole state.

DEMOCRATS are staffing McCain offices across the state. DEMOCRATS are phone banking and canvassing for McCain. DEMOCRATS are raising large sums to fund this last week of campaigning.

DEMOCRATS.

This has NEVER happened before — and the media is ignoring it.”

A-yup.

I’ve added a Contribute button to the sidebar on the right. Please send what you can, if you can. And thank you — because we really are a bunch of scruffy, regular people — not a Republican front, not receiving ANY support from ANY outside groups or candidates or rich people.

Agreed. The media has given quite a lot of play to Republicans defecting from McCain but they've totally ignored the story of a sizable number of Democrats deserting Obama. That's journalistic malpractice. It could have an impact on the election outcome and they're not even curious about it.

True. Every now and then though the enemy of my enemy is my friend applies as it does to this particular situation.

McCain will win by honest vote. When you throw in the illegal ACORN votes it will make a difference.

The fact that Murtha is in real trouble in PA is quite telling. His big shot House Dem leaders are throwing extra money into his race at the last minute but the bastard looks like he’s going down. He’s gonna get his fat ass handed to him by a real patriot, William Russell.

I get that and I am serious when I say that I appreciate them. I just want to remember what they believe.

“I’ve always believed Johnny Mc would win PA”

FWIW here in W. PA, I am seeing a somewhat lack of enthusiasm for Obama compared to both Gore and Kerry.

Anyway, driving on Rt. 51 N this afternoon, I saw a lot of “Obama : Socialist” signs (the ones with the commie-style ink print of the snob sticking his nose in the air....you all know the ones) followed by a “McCain 2008, Clinton 2012” sign. There were a few “Another Democrat for McCain” signs as well, but those were all stolen or defaced about 2 weeks ago.

I have some hope this side of the state will swing enough to make things interesting. I *really* hope the infamous “T” is going to come out in droves. It’ll all come down to what happens in Philadelphia this year....I think W. PA might be undergoing a slight change this year compared to 2004.

*WARNING* All the above info is anecdotal....take it only for what its worth.

270towin starts at 277 blue to 157 red. You've got to do some serious modifications to get to 307 red, and unfortunately, PA has gone blue in the last four elections.

I can wish but I think we need more than a 48% O - 47% M in national polls to pull this off.

Let's pedal faster!

I really appreciate them, but, they are Hillary supporters which means that believe in her ideology.

True, but in the spirit of "the enemy of my enemy is my friend", I wouldn't mind being pals with them.

For the moment...

They want to pretend the PUMAs don't exist or are much fewer in number than they are.

They do this because if they acknowledge it, then more Democrats will feel less "guilt" for voting against Party lines.

The last I had heard, he was alive and his wiki states he would not endorse Obama YMMV.

There is one more ‘sign’ I want to add to edh’s description. There is a new sign...just out in the last week—’Democrat for McCain.’ I am seeing them everywhere. There a groundswell here...SW PA is also heavily Catholic...those who do attend Mass were reminded, in the last couple of Sundays, of the sanctity of life...and the Church’s view on same. No endorsement. No mention of any party or candidate. Just a reminder.

Well sure, they are not Conservatives, they are more middle of the road Democrats who not only don’t like Obamao, they have proof that the Democrat Party colluded to keep her from the Nomination, especially in Mississippi.

In defense of the PUMAa...go to HillaryClintonForum.Net and read their threads. Honest...they could be FReepers. There are alot of Patriots over ‘there’ who worked hard for years on the grassroot Democratic level. Many of the feel that the nomination was stolen from Hillary...and they fear the same with the General Election. Many of the PUMAS, still active on the rolls Democrats will be poll watchers, etc. And I trully believe, from reading many threads there, that alot of them have come to their Reagan Epiphanies...the realize ‘they did not leave the Democratic party, the Democratic party left them’ by going too far to the left.

Yes. If you “flip” the thrust of numerous MSM headlines, you’ll discover the fallibility in their reports.
IE.Palin liability to McCain..really Biden liability to Obama
Republicans supporting Obama..more dems support McPalin
Dissention between McCain & Palin..Biden muzzled
150K for Palin’s wardrobe..757 expense to visit Grandma
Ect. ect.

Yep :-)! Also, more nice, “live” news here from the Pittsburgh area....in the past 15 minutes, I heard two pro-McCain ads (including the one with our buddy Rev. “Ridin’ Dirty” Wright”), and a JOHN MURTHA ad.....the Murtha ad is a new one for me. My Rep. is Tim Murphy & he’s safe ... but these were airing on our local CBA affiliate during our local news on KDKA. Of course, there were back-to-back Altimarie (I think he *might* be in trouble given the amount of cash they are firing his way) & Irey ads.

In 2004, I was a nervous wreck....this year, I can’t explain it, but I am not that worried....this is not to say that I think our guy can not lose, but I just think something is up here in PA.

All you have to do is keep almost all the Red states Red. If you just flip NH for NM, add PA and put in that 1 EV from Maine you get to 307. Let's keep in mind state polls tend to lag behind the national trend. In the end, almost all the Red States from 2004 should come back home to the GOP.

I hear what you're saying, but let's not forget: they are still Hillary supporters, and at this time last year she was the devil incarnate around here. She only looks marginally better in retrospect compared to the hidious Obama. Remember HillaryCare, remember "We'll have to take things away from you", etc.? I'm less interested in the so-called "big tent" idea than in remaking conservatism that's, well, conservative again. If they want to come over to our side and support our ideas, fine. But if McCain wins, and they start the Hillary2012 campaign the next day, then the hell with them.
