I love New Zealand. Friendly people and the most beautiful scenery i’ve ever seen.

I worked at a C-130 LockHeed Martin Flight Training Center in Marietta, Georgia and we trained the Kiwi Air Force Crews. They were always extremely friendly and certainly enjoyed downing the Booze. They were always ready to party at the drop of a hat. They also didn’t observe the rule of no drinking so many hours before flying, when it came to flying in our Flight Simulator. There were many times the Simulator had to come off motion to avoid a crew member from barfing in the Simulator. Sometimes they didn’t make it into the restroom and we had to charge them to have a special cleaning crew to come in and clean up their mess.
In regards to this article, the NEWS Morons surely know how to show their ignorance when it comes to reporting Aviation Incidents.
Incorrect. They've got weather RADAR; think of a PPI, most likely a Collins WXR-2100 MultiScan if it was a 400ER.
Airliners do not navigate by radar.
They do indeed use weather radar to navigate around weather and to detect and avoid turbulence.
As a Kiwi I can assure you this is a myth, just as "All Americans love America" is a myth.
A survey was done in NZ at the beginning of last year which found that 40% of New Zealanders wanted closer ties with the US, and that's not "keeping the status quo", but- closer ties.
Good to see this co-operation in the skies.
Thank you for your reply. I worked with a few Kiwis several years ago in Tokyo and considered them friends, very smart, and funny as hell. However, most of the lot I encountered in Hong Kong, London, and OZ were rather hostile towards the US in many of their comments. Not so much towards me but if you asked them they would have told you Reagan was the devil, George H was his spawn, and Americans are their minions. Fwiw, Ive kicked myself in the arse many times for not going to NZ when I was in Australia. I’m not sure when or if I’ll ever get down to that part of the globe again.
