You know the videotape that shows
Barack Obama toasting PLO terrorist Rashid Khalidi? The one that the Los Angeles Times
refuses to release?
"The Los Angeles Times did not publish the videotape because it was provided to us by a confidential source who did so on the condition that we not release it," said the newspaper's editor, Russ Stanton...
How frickin' stupid do they think we are? Someone gave the Times a videotape
so it wouldn't be released? And they can't publish a transcript?
I guess that's the kind of executive talent the newspaper business is attracting these days.
However, I received a tip from a person who has provided useful, accurate and unique data from LA before (e.g., "
All six of CNN's 'undecided voters' were Democratic operatives"). Take it for what it's worth, but I believe this person is on target.
Saw a clip from the tape. Reason we can't release it is because statements Obama said to rile audience up during toast. He congratulates Khalidi for his work saying "Israel has no God-given right to occupy Palestine" plus there's been "genocide against the Palestinian people by Israelis."
It would be really controversial if it got out. Tha's why they will not even let a transcript get out.
Yep, I guess that would do it.

I think that John McCain is going to get a lot more Democrat voters than anyone could mention. Today I went into my local McDonaldss for a breakfast sandwich and coffee. While I was eating, I overheard 6 retired union workers talking. Those guys meet there everyday for coffee to shoot the crap. I know that they were big Hillary backers during the primary and have, on occassion, been at odds with Bush so I know they dont like him or Republicans. When the issue of the Khaladi tapes came up on one of the TVs, one of the guys mentioned that there was a tape of another terrorist being linked to Obama and they all started to talk in very subdued voices (almost whispers). I was stunned to overhear that they all admitted to each other that they will vote for McCain. The telling thing was that they all felt like they had to admit it in subdues voices as if they were afraid of being overheard by the KGB. I can honestly admit that if McCain is going to get these guys to vote for him, he ought to get a whole lot more traditional Dems to vote for him.

Need good second and third party independent confirmation.
Would anyone talk more if money was offered?
Poor Obama. There goes Florida (and lots of other places).
Amazing how they cover for this guy.

As much as I want to believe Jews would abandon Obama because of a statement like this, I think they wouldn’t. Many would, but most would just shrug their shoulders.

Although interesting it means nothing. We need the tape - we need something official.
Anyone can make up quotes - not saying you are making up quotes...but that is about all it is worth.
Surely someone else has a copy of this tape.

Of course there’s something highly damaging on that tape for Obama, such as those statements, if true.
One can only imagine if there was such a tape of McCain or Palin what the press reaction would be.
At a minimum, the McCain campaign can use this matter to hit the media bias/inadequate vetting issue as well as to point out that Obama is no friend of Israel. Of course, it wouldn’t be as good of a tape with those words coming out of Obama’s mouth.

Well, someone needs to work up a ‘transcript’ of the tape and get it out there. The only way they can disprove it is to release the tape itself.
Win-Win situation!

Perhaps it’s an interesting gambit to place made up quotes out there in order force the times to reveal the tape.
To: coffee260
it was provided to us by a confidential source who did so on the condition that we not release it Somebody please 'splain to me why anyone would give a tape to a FREAKIN' NEWSPAPER and then not want it released or even QUOTED FROM?
Huh?

Exactly.
The press goes whole hog to dig and expose and ruin average Joe citizen for asking a question.
Then they go into bunker mode when something embarrassing surfaces about their Savior.
McCain, even without the tape, can smoke them out something GOOD on this.

There has to be another copy of this tape, do you really believe the source and the L.A. Times is the only one with the copy. This was probably given out to Palestinian supporters, might even be hiding somewhere on the internet.

I think a lot more Dems will than the current polls suggest. Some, of course, will chicken out and vote for the Dem, but there is enough anger, distrust, and disgust with Obama that he will lose way more Dems than McCain will lose Repubs. Whatever it's been over the last two elections, I think it will increase significantly. Obama is not bringing the Kerry base into this election. He's lost a lot of people.

I have to disagree with you on this one, I don’t think that many Jewish people are that stupid to vote for someone who is under-the-cover anti-Semetic (the worst kind). Have faith in the Jewish people.

Why did someone give the Times a tape and then ask them not to release it. The BS meter just topped out.
