RED ALERT Tip: Two quotes from the Obama-Khalidi videotape

RED ALERT Tip: Two quotes from the Obama-Khalidi videotape

You know the videotape that shows Barack Obama toasting PLO terrorist Rashid Khalidi? The one that the Los Angeles Times refuses to release?

"The Los Angeles Times did not publish the videotape because it was provided to us by a confidential source who did so on the condition that we not release it," said the newspaper's editor, Russ Stanton...

How frickin' stupid do they think we are? Someone gave the Times a videotape so it wouldn't be released? And they can't publish a transcript?

I guess that's the kind of executive talent the newspaper business is attracting these days.

However, I received a tip from a person who has provided useful, accurate and unique data from LA before (e.g., "All six of CNN's 'undecided voters' were Democratic operatives"). Take it for what it's worth, but I believe this person is on target.

Saw a clip from the tape. Reason we can't release it is because statements Obama said to rile audience up during toast. He congratulates Khalidi for his work saying "Israel has no God-given right to occupy Palestine" plus there's been "genocide against the Palestinian people by Israelis."

It would be really controversial if it got out. Tha's why they will not even let a transcript get out.

Yep, I guess that would do it.

As much as I want to believe Jews would abandon Obama because of a statement like this, I think they wouldn’t. Many would, but most would just shrug their shoulders.

It's not just the Jewish people who will abandon Obama, I believe he will have a Lot of Christians leave him too. Most of us Christians have this little quirk about not wanting to test God.

Genesis 12: 1-3

1 The LORD had said to Abram, "Leave your country, your people and your father's household and go to the land I will show you.

 2 "I will make you into a great nation
       and I will bless you;
       I will make your name great,
       and you will be a blessing.

 3 I will bless those who bless you,
       and whoever curses you I will curse;
       and all peoples on earth
       will be blessed through you."

I was stunned to overhear that they all admitted to each other.....in subdues voices as if they were afraid of being overheard by the KGB.

Maybe they thought you were KGB! =)

Don't reply to this post. I won't respond. Don't Freepmail me. I won't respond. There is much, much worse from Obama on the tape than this thread claims.

OK. But I think your post deserves a little more emphasis here.

If Obama was among his radical Muslim/Communist friends, and if he was a little drunk with good fellowship, he could have said almost anything.

Remember "bitterly clinging to guns and religion" when he thought he was speaking privately to his rich leftist Hollywood pals. I think that little phrase cost him something. At this dinner he was speaking to a far worse group than the naive leftists in Hollywood.

Hopefully the mounting pressure to release the tape, and the refusal to do so by the LA Times will cause people to really wonder what on earth is being kept from them. This could bring about the same result as actually hearing the tape.

Explosive if true, as this runs 180 degrees couner to what the campaign said:

At a dinner gathering that year, Abunimah said, Obama greeted him warmly and said privately that he needed to speak cautiously about the Middle East.

Abunimah quoted Obama as saying that he was sorry he wasn’t talking more about the Palestinian cause, but that his primary campaign had constrained what he could say.

Obama, through his aide Axelrod, denied he ever said those words, and Abunimah’s account could not be independently verified.

“In no way did he take a position privately that he hasn’t taken publicly and consistently,” Axelrod said of Obama. “He always had expressed solicitude for the Palestinian people, who have been ill-served and have suffered greatly from the refusal of their leaders to renounce violence and recognize Israel’s right to exist.”

"Israel has no God-given right to occupy Palestine"

Oddly enough, there's a HUGE number of American jews who would agree with that statement.

Why give the tape to a news organization in April 2008?

1) Tape was to be used to damage BHO in Dem primary;
2) Use of tape was conditional...no release because if BHO wins primary then he will be damaged beyond reparation for the general election.

Although interesting it means nothing. We need the tape - we need something official.

I think that the LA Times should prove that these quotes aren't accurate!

Until they do, I will chose to believe every single word, and pass them along to all my friends (especially my Jewish friends). After all, it sounds accurate.

Isn't that what the other side did with the Bush National Guard story? Freepers proved that the documentation wasn't real, so now the LA Times should prove these quotes aren't accurate!

The Los Angeles Times customer service hotline is 1-800-252-9141. I think the hotline is just the place to call.

Its kinda funny but it was when I made eye contact with on of 'em that they all started to speak in hushed voices. I never thought that I look like the "Obama Police".

Seriously, though, they were former union workers so I suspect they are used to having to "watch what they say" in public.

Maybe Hillary’s campaign gave it to the LA Times to run against BHO in the primary, thinking they would, and they decided not to at the last minute.

I wouldnt be surprised if Khalidi, Ayers and Obama were all sitting on the same table since they are all best pals and Obama was toasting him too. Maybe even Rezko was on the same table.

"Don't reply to this post. I won't respond. Don't Freepmail me. I won't respond."

"There is much, much worse from Obama on the tape than this thread claims."

If that isn't the tease of the cycle I don't know what is.

The LA Times has done this before. Back before the CA Recall when Gray Davis was riding high there was a rumor about a laptop. A Davis' fundraiser had an affair with a high level Davis staffer. The fundraiser's husband found out and she moved out. Husband sat down on the lazyboy and reached down to kick out the footrest and he found the fundraiser's laptop computer she forgot when she moved out earlier in the day. He allegedly fired it up and right there in a spreadsheet was the details of Davis' fundraising. Who and where to meet and the donor's favorite issue/cause and how much to ask for and how much they recieved. The data explicitly detailed a quid pro quo in Davis' fundraising operation. This rumor was confirmed by one of the LAT's main political writers at the time, but there was no way it was ever going to see the light of day.

I'm sure the laptop is in a big LA Times warehouse like the one in Raiders of the Last Ark, full of items kept from public view. This tape is probably on a nearby shelf or near a very powerful magnet.

If the LA times received the tape from some other source, surely there are copies of it out there.
