WASHINGTONA week from today, Americans will pick a new president, but a surprising beneficiary may be off the ballot: Mitt Romney.
With polls in key states forecasting a comfortable victory by Sen. Barack Obama and fellow Democrats, Republicans may find themselves booted out of the White House, shoved further into the minority in Congress and marginalized in the powerhouse of Washington.
If Sen. John McCain loses next Tuesday, Romney could be well positioned to rise as a leader of the Republican Party to guide conservatives through a few years in the political wilderness and a favorite for the GOP presidential nomination come 2012.

And there's this:
....Romney appeared in Cleveland with McCain yesterday and will leave Friday on a five-day, multi-state tour to rally support for John McCain and Sarah Palin around the country, Fehrnstrom said....
Romney and his wife, Ann, have personally shelled out $70,000 to the McCain-Palin ticket and the Republican National Committees Victory Fund....
Romney officials downplayed recent reports of tension between the Romney and McCain camps. Fehrnstrom pointed out that Romney and his vast fund-raising team have raised $20 million for the McCain-Palin ticket.
RNC spokeswoman Blair Latoff said, Gov. Romney continues to be a tremendous asset to the Republican Party . . . and continues to be one of the most widely respected spokesmen for Sen. McCain and how a McCain-Palin presidency will strengthen and bolster the nations economy.

Gov. Romney had his shot at the White House, and he lost fair and square, Romney spokesman Eric Fehrnstrom said. That opportunity is unlikely to come along again. Gov. Romney is pouring all his energy into electing McCain-Palin and other Republicans, and that has been his single focus since leaving the presidential race.

When your Marxist squirrel is elected, you can come and get a hand-full of arugula ... I’ll personally handle the transfer for you, barackanista.
And by the way, "heroes for America" put McCain on the ticket.
Knock off the personal attacks.
Isn’t it amazing that there are some who still say MR is pro-life.
He is as pro-life as I am 5’8”.
We got McCain as our nominee because independents and democrats were allowed to vote in some of our primaries and people like Huckabee split the conservative vote with Mitt ushering in McCain who scooped up a majority of the moderate Republicans, indies and dems.
And Romney is NOT McCain. They diasagree on global warming, keeping Gitmo open, federal funding for embryonic stem cell research, a marriage amendment, drilling in ANWR etc. Romney's positions align much more with Palin's.
Go away, Mitt.
These guy's never learn...we don't want real people...not chameleons.
Sorry...
Could??
Could???
COULD!!!
Now THAT's a bummer!
Give it UP!
St. John 11:39b
Would?
What's HIS 'plan' to get us out of this MESS we are supposed to be in?
Well...
No one who has been in the CHURCH since dirt was invented - one who held various positions of responsibiltiy in the CHURCH in his life - not one whose CHURCH has ALWAYS been against abortion - not one who wants folks think that his CHURCH is the most ACCURATE and ONLY one that has the 'keys to the kingdom'.
Uh...
Just what KIND of 'reforms' does he advocate?
But we have BILLS coming due and payments to make.
We MUST have more money coming in, for NO ONE has said Sh!+ about CUTTING SPENDING!
