Dixie Carter is a conservative in Hollywood. She and Linda Bloodworth Thompson butted heads often on Designing Women, because LBT wrote shows about liberal topics that Dixie didn’t want to do.
I’ve been to the Dixie theater in Huntingdon, TN. Dixie and Hal donated funds to build it. It’s near Dixie’s hometown of McClemore, TN.
I’ve never seen “Designing Women” in my life. Not once.
I have a vague idea about the characters from some of the promo spots they used to run, but I’ve never seen the show.
I think it’s because as a man I have a phobia about “designing women”...... :^)

Me, too. Even when Julia went off on some liberal political cause or another, she still had class. And you had to love Anthony and his “unfortunate incarceration”.
Great characters and writing. Good for Linda B-T if she is fair minded enough to see MSNBC for what they are.
