I went to buy a Remington 870 as one was on sale for $239, but a Henry Lever Action 22 caught my eye, as I think this will be a better gun for casual shooting (though a Remington 870 is still in my future).

And about two weeks ago, I bought a new Ruger P95.
I amj just getting back into guns after being away ffrom them for about 20 years. Went shooting with my dad yesterday with an AF15. Would like to get one of those too sometime down the line. Possibly a 45 too;-)
I’m stocking up next week. I will sacrifice my life before these bastards come through my door.
The country’s founders understood that it’s natural human tendency for government to devolve toward control and tyranny.THAT was why the second amendment was a vital part of the Bill of Rights-to ensure the people could defend themselves against a tyrannical government. An Urkel -led federal government with total Dem controlled socialist central government is the perfect storm of out of control government that these prescient men had in mind.
Properly stored in a sealed container (cool, dry place) you can count on them for at least 50 years, maybe longer. If they're milspec, the primers and the bullet mouths are sealed, which means they can last at least 50 years, maybe longer.
I'm talking about being 100% reliable, BTW. I have some Turkish 8mm Mauser ammo with 1944 headstamps, and have only had like one of them fail to fire, and I may be mis-remembering that (it may had been my 1940's era .303 - I don't know for sure).
Thanks. I’m looking for deals on 500 rounds. That would be my SHTF ammo for my Bushy Carbine-15. I stick to the .223 55gr for plinking.
I’m stocked up real well.
heh - heh
Awesome, thanks.
Unfortunately, the deal may well be being able to get it at all.
I got a case of .223 for about $300 in the summer. PMC 55 gr FMJ.
I think I cornered the market on 16 gauge buckshot too. Of course I’m weird that way.
“Does anyone know the shelf life of SS109 5.56 NATO rounds?”
Decades. Still - buy more.
Brass and copper have been rising steadily for some time, and the price of fuel hits ammo hard, as it's heavy. Ammo was rising when Obama was "Barrak Who?"
For plinking I’ll never give up my Ruger 10/22
forever
I got a good deal on AR mags at the last gun show. I just need the ammo to fill them.
As a side note, the mag tube is allowing more than one shell to pass into the chamber causing it to jam. Anybody have any insight into that?
Agreed. Like waving a red flag at a socialist bull.
“I just bought a gun today, which is why I was drawn to this story.”
What did you pick up?
Shame on those people who run out and buy ammo in anticipation of disasters or civil unrest.
A decent, well-prepared home should ALWAYS be fully stocked with ammo for every weapon in the house.
