I just had a call from some friends who are stuck in the crowd outside the Asheville venue for tonight's rally. They've been in the same place (there's no line, just a mob, LOL) outside, but nothing seems to be happening, no movement to get in...they're only about 20 feet from the door. Does anyone know if the venue is packed out already. Doors opened at 4 and you were supposed to be inside by 6...but they've been stuck in the crowd outside for quite awhile now, waiting on word of what's happening. If anyone has any info, could you pass it on.
Thanks
Don’t stress. Dynamics are different over 2004 due and only due to AA turnout. VA will be harder than FL/OH.
Didn’t want to start a new thread but also didn’t see this in a search of FR.
I guess at one early voting place in N.C. they were handing out free James Taylor tickets.

Palin is late, it said on News 13 that she arrived at 6:15pm and her speech would be carried live on www.WLOS.MY40 for those at home. Now some people will get it on My40 on their satellite, but Mediacom won’t.

trouble with 0bama supporters
I was wrong,,she left Florida at 6:15 pm...and I read another thread that said the Asheville Palin crowd has some harrassment going from the OBAMANUTS.
From your live link, Zombie walk going on in the area. LOL, only in Asheville.
” According to a zombie on the scene, there are about 400 who are participating in the zombie walk. They will run into some Palin - and Obama - supporters on their way to the final celebration at Asheville Pizza on Coxe Ave. By the way, Steve Perry is crooning through the speaker system right now.”
The Asheville Obamanuts are bad, and it would not surprise me if there were violence..unless Police (corrupt) had to get involved..maybe some are McCAin Palin supporters..who knows anymore.

Security at these events have been very undermanned....it takes a long time to get everybody through the metal detectors. Secret Service runs security and is underfunded and unprepared for Palin’s huge turnouts.
Gretchen Wilson on deck
Some of my best friends live in Asheville, and they are very conservative, and very Christian. Yes, there are loads of San Francisco types there, but they aren’t more than half of population. The surrounding counties are more conservative than liberal...so it’s a dangerous situation as it mimics poll numbers there.
Always, always arrive four hours prior to a political rally if you want to get in.
Thanks for sharing the link.
She was outstanding! (and Gretchen Wilson wasn’t too bad herself!) ;)
They did get in eventually, thank goodness. I just got a call saying they were able to get close to the stage and were glad about that. They were “running the gauntlet” of protestors as they were leaving.
What did they think of Sarah in jeans?
o_o
They loved the whole thing. They said they had so many pictures, and were so close to the stage, especially to Gretchen Wilson when she was singing, that they probably had photos of the inside of her nose, LOL.
