I dont know how I missed this story, but apparently the USCCB has decided to cut off ACORNs funding due to financial irregularities. ACORN was set to receive another $1.13 million of our second collection for the 2008 cycle.

Acorn fraud will be stamped out!
Smart move
Woohoo! SUPER news for Catholics (and for America.)
What you said !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!good news.........
BOOM :-))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
Good bye to Bishops appeals, as far as I’m concerned. I gave to the Bishops’ appeal only for the spread of the Faith. I will choose more carefully where I donate from now on.
Good news. I think the staffers who run the USCCB are beginning to hear all those bishops speaking out.
They were donating to ACORN, probably, because they were told it was helping poor black people. But this election has revealed that that “help” is very questionable indeed.
These Alinsky trained people are very good at hiding what they are actually doing. But the word is getting out now, and if Obama is defeated I think that ACORN is liable to lose a lot of donations and a lot of tax money.

“...This is not a simple vision, but a detailed plan.
Our plan is to build an American reality from the American rhetoric, to deliver a piece of the present and the fruits of the future to every man, to every woman, to every family.
We demand our birthright: the chance to be rich, the right to be free...”
I NEVER give to the second collection ...never!
Any other skeletons left in the CCHD closet?
I wonder if it is time for American Catholics to petition the Vatican to task the Holy Office and the Dominican Order of Dominicans with coming to the United States, on an extended mission to challenge the heterodoxies that have evolved in the Americas.
That is, an instructional mission to distinguish church doctrines from the morass of everything from secular corruptions to outright heresies.
Working from North to South, first to confront the “social Catholics”, who no longer embrace the faith, but use the pretense for ulterior motives. Then those Catholic institutions that endorse anti-Catholic instruction and groups.
Into Mexico and the Caribbean, there are the Santa Muerte cultists casting about confusion and doubt, and those nations where Catholicism has been blended into the local pagan religions. In Cuba and Venezuela, the Russian Orthodox church is being invited in, to challenge the Catholic church.
Further South the people are tormented by socialism, once again, and their faith disparaged. No doubt there will be a resurgence of Liberation Theology, leftists encouraging revolution that will be blamed on the church, if they are unchallenged.
I’m glad I didn’t know the USCCB was giving money to those foul scumbags.

The Bishops are finding their brains — actually maybe I better say their brains were (handed to them) awakened when Pope Benedict visited the United States.
That is good news
WONDERFUL news!
The central offices of many dioceses are full of liberals. What has amazed me is the way that the Holy Father has managed to gin the bishops up. Men who were silent before are speaking up. Benedict truly has charisma. Not the political sort, but the real thing.
It’s too little, too late, but better late than never! : )
