jeez.
At least we can clear some dead wood after this election cycle. It is time to dump the big tent and go back to Reagan’s conservative message. It wins, and wins big.

Ugh. I mean, ugh. At one point in the 90s it looked like Weld might actually help move libertarianism forward in the GOP.
Instead, he’s just another New England RINO who’s left of many Texas Democrats.

McCain has made A LOT of enemies. He has screwed over a lot of Republicans. The chickens are coming home to roost.
BTW - Weld is a good friend of Mitt Romney.

Weld resigned the governorship after being appointed United States Ambassador to Mexico by President Bill Clinton. He was never confirmed by the United States Senate, however, and hence never served as Ambassador. This was due mainly to opposition from Senate Foreign Relations committee chairman Jesse Helms, who refused to hold talks on the nomination, effectively blocking it. Though both were Republicans and though that party held the majority in the chamber, Helms objected to Weld’s moderate stance on several social issues. This refusal to hold hearings was also rumored to be at the request of former attorney general and friend of Helms, Ed Meese. Meese had a long standing grudge against Weld stemming from Weld’s investigation of Meese during Iran Contra.

I've always thought of this guy as a putz anyway. Not that big of a surprise really.
Out of the mist they come, the Final 300 FReepers
of this quarter's FReepathon.
We were a little over $3,000.00 from this quarter's
goal this morning. It would only take 300 of us to
donate $10.00 to put us over the goal. Would some
of you like to be a part of the Final 300? Let's end
this FReepathon today.

Weld also helped President Bush run against John Kerry in 2004... it seems John Kerry was a foe of Weld.
