PITTSBURGH -- A 20-year-old woman who was robbed at an ATM in Bloomfield was also maimed by her attacker, police said.
Pittsburgh police spokeswoman Diane Richard tells Channel 4 Action News that the victim was robbed at knifepoint on Wednesday night outside of a Citizens Bank near Liberty Avenue and Pearl Street just before 9 p.m.
Richard said the robber took $60 from the woman, then became angry when he saw a McCain bumper sticker on the victim's car. The attacker then punched and kicked the victim, before using the knife to scratch the letter "B" into her face, Richard said.
Richard said the woman refused medical treatment after the assault, which happened outside the view of the bank's surveillance cameras.
The robber is described as a dark-skinned black man, 6 feet 4 inches tall, 200 pounds with a medium build, short black hair and brown eyes. The man was wearing dark colored jeans, a black undershirt and black shoes.
If someone 6-4 had a small girl in a chokehold from behind while standing he could absolutely control her neck enough where her head would not be flopping all around. She thrashes he snaps her neck.
As Obama might say, "Your typical black person."

If she (or anyone else prominent in the McCain campaign) starts doing this, it could blow up in their faces if the story turns out to be a hoax.

If the story is indeed true, it will “find its way out” into the world.

Not at all. Stand behind someone and put them in a chokehold with your left hand. Write a B on his or her face with your right hand. Turn them around and take a look. It will be just as this picture shows.

My wife was an ER nurse for a long time. ER nurses and docs are trained in analyzing bruises and injuries, mainly for evidence of child abuse being pawned off as “an accident.”
Most people don’t realize how much forensic analysis can be done with these type of injuries. They can date a bruise by color and other factors day by day. If this was a hoax, the doctors and detectives will catch her out pretty quickly.

Absolutely. Also the black eye is opposite the B which would be the side that was slammed down and the carved side would be up.
I just don’t want everyone jumping on this until there is good corrabative investigation done by the police and campaign officials.

I haven’t seen any articles that say she was hit in the eye, only hit in the back of the head and kicked. I don’t think that is a black eye from a punch. Wouldn’t it be swolen and the eye red? I’m not saying the story is fabricated, just that I think the blackness around the eye is from makeup and crying, plus, like I said, I’ve seen no reports saying she was hit in the eye/face.

Instead, how about this, rotate your head 90 degrees to the left and look at it again. The “B” was scratched from above, not in a mirror (possibly).

I am a Plastic Surgeon. I have treated a lot of facial trauma. It is my opinion that this is a Tawana Brawley moment. Here’s why:
1- As many have noted, the “B” is way too neat for somebody to have carved on anybody other than an unconscious patient.
2- Although she has a “black eye”, there is NO swelling. All the anatomic landmarks are intact, there is fine wrinkling in the eyelid skin, etc. The “black eye” comes from blood vessels burst under the skin. There is no way the swelling would have resolved 24 hrs later. If anything, swelling is worse the next day as fluid extravasates into the injured tissues.
