"Nonetheless an attorney in Philadelphia, Philip Berg, filed a lawsuit claiming Obama lost his U.S. citizenship when his mother married an Indonesian man. Berg says Obama failed to take an oath of allegiance when he turned 18.
Obama has attempted to silence any critics by producing a birth certificate from Hawaii, proving he was born there in 1961. Berg however is demanding an original, and not a copy from the Obama camp.
Obama's team filed a motion to dismiss Berg's lawsuit, but they also made a motion to block discovery.
Brian Smith is a West Palm Beach attorney registered as an Independent, that has wrote about this issue from a legal standpoint on his blog.
"The Obama camp and Democratic National Committee responded to the lawsuit by filing a motion to dismiss, but they never responded to the request for admissions."
Berg is now arguing because Obama's camp is refusing to produce an original birth certificate copy in discovery, his allegations are essentially true. "

Why block discovery unless you don’t want anything discovered? I really can’t explain the Obama camp’s failure to put this to rest other than to believe that some or all of the allegations must be true- or if not that what would turn up in discovery/producing documents would be damning enough to try and stifle it til after the election.
Even if he manufactures a Birth Certificate, what about the declarations that he was an Indonesian citizen? Did he travel to Pakistan [the purpose of the trip is worth another inquiry] on an Indonesian passport? If so, is that tatamount to admitting that he has Indonesian citizenship?
Let's review a few things and get to work!
Exhibit 1 The Alleged Obama Birth Certificate:
Unfortunately I can't enlarge this image but it you go to the link you can enlarge it: www.latimes/obama-birth.
The certificate describes Obama's mother as being "caucasian" and his father as being "African". It is dated August 8, 1961 with a date of birth of August 4, 1961 for Baby Barrack. Now the term "African" is used instead of "Negro" which would've been the correct description for race on the certificate to describe his father's race. African is a modern politically correct term and I doubt that even in today's PC world it would actually appear on a birth certificate even in the State of Hawaii. A birth certificate is not just a legal document it is a medical document as well and therefore it must be accurate in a medical sense. Therefore, I am highly incredulous about this alleged document because of this. Also the document lacks additional information which appears on all birth certificates such as the baby's weight, height, hair and eye color and race. In additon, a birth certificate usually contains the address of both the mother and the father, their marital status, how long they've been in residence, and their occupations. This document contains none of that.
Do any FReepers have a Hawaii birth certificate, either original or a copy, to compare this one to?
It would be interesting to see someone's certificate from 1961. It would also be interesting if that person could go to the Hawaii Dept. of Health and get a copy of their birth certificate so that it could be compared to the Obama document.
It doesn't matter now! He can block all he wants! Now that this is out in the open, if he doesn't produce a birth certificate before the election, I'll bet his numbers drop like a rock!
The squishy middle will be thinkin' "Whassup with that?!"
To: The FR Grammar Police
They’re is no way I can let this slide. Its not appropriate to call attention to grammatical errors. Errors are part of life, part of it’s very essence. Your going to have to let this go.
Those who make there living from words always think they have all the answers. I know; I’ve been their. So, put aside you’re propensity for correcting grammar, and lets just have a civil discussion, okay?
[snicker] Sorry. I couldn’t resist. ;-)
I tend to be a word nerd, too.
He can produce one. It is in the registry in Mombasa, Kenya, where he was born.
It’s a “measured” responce.
Glad you were kidding. When I first red your post, I was starting to feel like a real looser.
Two possibilities come to mind. (1)He may have not been born in the US at all, but in Kenya, which would make him constitutionally ineliegible to be POTUS. (2) He may have information on his birth certificate that would be embarrassing to disclose, like, for example, he was born out of wedlock or his father was someone other than Barack Obama Sr. In either case, such disclosures would be legally and/or politically disastrous to him.
They may have a hard time ignoring it now, but I'm SURE they're going to try!
I want to scream when I keep hearing every hour on the hour how NOBAMA is going to Hawaii to visit his deathly ill Gramma. They say he doesn't want to make the same mistake he made when his mother died.
Then WHY would he WAIT 4 or 5 days to go visit her??!! The frickin' morons reporting this say it so matter-of-factly, like there's nothing suspicious about this?
If this doesn't prove they don't want to ask any questions of NOBAMA, I know what?!
Grammar police, cleanup needed in paragraph six.
“The original birth certificate probably says Messiah.”
Yep,and he wasn’t born in Hawaii, he was born in a manger.

On any public record what is recorded is what the person declared. So if BO's father or mother said "African" that is what is recorded.
BO's birth certificate will be in the Honolulu County Records. As I previously stated due to privacy laws no one is going to be able to get a copy of his birth certificate except for BO.
But the Divorce Records are not included in the privacy laws and you should be able to find a copy and possibly the entire divorce file of BO's mother, Ann Dunham and BO Sr., in the Honolulu County Vital Records office. If there was a minor child, he/she has to be mentioned in the Divorce File and birth should be documented and included in the Divorce File. This is where I would start if researching BO's family history.
Too little, too late.
A first year attorney could stall this past the election.
If Obama is elected, the issue will become moot because no court is going to order the result as void. They will not step into that political thicket.
If I remember correctly, I had to produce an original birth certificate with my passport application. So wouldn’t our State Department have a copy of Obama’s certificate with his passport application? He does have a passport, doesn’t he? From somewhere?
