Republicans are slashing their television advertising at Colorado's three biggest television stations, a troubling sign for presidential nominee John McCain.

McCain is headed to Colorado Friday, but public records provided by three Denver stations show the GOP this week cut their ad spending for McCain by 46%.

My crazy in-laws all live in CO and voting Obama. I hthink McCain is just throwing in the towel there too.

With all due respect Ferret, your post is dopey.

McCain doesn’t need PA. But if he wins PA, we all can go to bed early that evening.

What a great resource! Thank you.

Everyone, may I have your attention please? [clearing throat] Thank you.

According to that link there are exactly three states where both campaigns are increasing ad expenditures. Care to guess what they are?

New Hampshire
Maine
Iowa

Talk amongst yourselves. I'll be busy celebrating a McCain/Palin victory. This news is so good I need a cigarette, and I don't even smoke!

>>> According to Rove, the McCain strategy is to take Pennsylvania — which would make up for combined losses in New Mexico, Nevada and Colorado.

>> BS, McCain is even in the polls in NM, CO and NV.

Your argument is with Karl Rove, not me. I was simply quoting the strategy that might be behind the redirection of money away from CO.

Colorado has really struggled the past couple elections, and that points to a liberal shift.

We got to keep in mind if we start losing the SW, it will be virtually impossible to win elections in the future even if we can pull it out this time.

According to FreeReign's resource at the above link, the following states are where Obama decreased spending last week:

CO, FL, IN, MI, MN, MO, NC, NM, NV, OH, PA, VA and WI.

McCain/Palin are not only going to win, but they're going to win comfortably. Definitely we still need to vote and work hard, but now let's turn our attention to winning/saving some House, Senate and gubernatorial seats.

Most polls show Obama up by double digits in Michigan.

Like a poker game, there are different ways to complete a winning hand. Any winning hand for McCain pretty much has to include Ohio, Missouri, Florida and Virginia. With those battleground states plus the 'red' states, McCain could put together a winning combination with Colorado and either Nevada or New Mexico. With Pennsylvania, which wasn't part of either Bush's 2000 or 2004 wins, McCain could afford to lose all of the western battleground states.

The problem is that as they pull out of states, the reduce the number of backup options so there is no margin for error in even one state. I'm fairly confident things are trending the right way in Missouri, Ohio and Florida. I think both Virginia and Pennsylvania are going to be tough fights.

Colorado can be won if the Evangelicals turn out in force. Unfortunately, Evangelicals are fickle voters. They came out in force in 2004, but sat on their hands in 2000 and 2006.

And many polls show Obama up by double digits nationally. Do you believe those, too?

Bachmann?

Don't think so. Supposedly the RNC has pulled their money from her campaign, too.

You know, this is about the 5th or 6th state in the last few days that the GOP is supposed to have pulled money out of. That’s too many too close to the election to be coincidence. Now either McCain and the Republicans are broke, which means their really in trouble. Or these stories are bullsh*t made to make the GOP look to be in dire straights. I’m tending towards the later explanation.

Was it the RNC or the NRCC that pulled funding. I was told it was the NRCC.

The NRCC did. They handle House races. The RNC does statewide GOTV/resource efforts.

Didn’t the OBama campaign pull almost $200 million in September alone?

Isn’t that greater than the whole Republican war chest?

You are AWESOME! Obama is in trouble in blue states from 2004! Colorado is getting on the ground people hitting the state starting today from surrounding states. The GOTV is going to be huge in CO where the GOP will far outnumber the Obama ground game.

NRA ads are supposed to be on the air in some of these states as well.
