Can you pick and choose with the Fairness Doctrine?

It only has to do with the public airwaves.

If they attempt to apply the Fairness doctrine to radio, then we will DEMAND the same be applied to universities and all schools that receive public moneys. Fairness is fair for all, don’tcha know?

Let’s see what happens with this election first... ;-)

Both offices wanted the information about the printer if I could verify it.
I've always predicted a military coup to reclaim the Constitution would take place in this country someday. I just never expected it to come in my lifetime.

I hate to admit it, but I agree with you.

Hey lets not stop with schools. ABC, NBC, CBS and all channels better have 2 sides to every story.

ABC, NBC, CBS and other television stations use the public airwaves as well. Perhaps a Republican can introduse a version of the Fairness Dictrine that would apply to all television channels for the first 5 years, then, with approval of the 2013 congress, it can be expanded to radio and learning institutions.

Force them to oppose it openly.

Yes, of all places, we certainly don’t want both sides of the story on a college campus. Heaven forbid the kids might hear from those conservatives!

I think they do NOT like things such as this:

Yes, I have suggested that. 15 minutes for Katie; 15 minutes for DFU. That’s fair.

Don’t forget the newspapers. I my city (Houston) the local paper has street vendors running out into traffic to sell papers. They also have newspaper vending machines on public sidewalks. Sounds like we should include newspapers.

Unions, too
Especially teacher’s Unions

We expect to see tax deductible contributions made in a bipartisan fairness doctrine way

What’s the difference between radio & TV rules, are TV waves private or public? [Just askin’].

Well I don’t know about a military coup but I will predict that us great unwashed out here in lala land are as difficult to coalesce that it’s like herding cats.

BUT...to try and stomp out talk radio....THIS is something that will have all of us joining together. We’re not the sort to go out and march but I predict that this is dangerous territory for the libs.

Everyone has a point and THAT would be the point that would have us revolting.

Rush should simply announce that he is a Democrat. Let them prove he isn’t. In fact, he should register as a Democrat. They’d have to balance his views by putting a Repub on the air.

Demand WHAT and from WHO? You're kidding of course..........

It's possible the Dems may have a super majority in both the house and the Senate and that will enable them to actually ammend the Constitution if they wish.....public opinion be damned.

COngress will pick and choose with the fairness doctrine.

First it will be applied to radio. TV will be exempt: It will be claimed that TV networks already regulate their coverage quite effectively (not), thusly their broadcasts will be exempted from the fairness doctrine.

“I just never expected it to come in my lifetime.”

Nor I. Suspect you will agree it’s better us than our children and grandchildren.

Another poster opined the veterans at Arlington and other military cemeterys were turning in their graves. I offered that, in my mind at least, they would rise and stand with us.

Semper Fi!
