With Barack Obama about to head into the general election, hell need to re-introduce himself to the American people. Many folks just dont know that much about him. One thing we do know is that Obama is a Christian, not a Muslim. He talks about his Christian faith quite a bit but because of some of his liberal positions (read: abortion, civil unions) hes going to need to really work hard to convince religious moderates and religious conservatives that they have common ground.
In 2004, he gave an interview to Cathleen Falsani who was the religion reporter at the Chicago Sun-Times. I must say the whole interview is remarkable. Below are some parts of it where Obama talks about Jesus, heaven and sin. The whole interview can be read here.
(GG is God Girl aka Cathleen Falsani) GG: Whos Jesus to you?
OBAMA: Right. Jesus is a historical figure for me, and hes also a bridge between God and man, in the Christian faith, and one that I think is powerful precisely because he serves as that means of us reaching something higher. And hes also a wonderful teacher. I think its important for all of us, of whatever faith, to have teachers in the flesh and also teachers in history.

Between him and Joe, who is the bigger fake???
Where’s the barf alert???
Rules, people. Rules!
Parsed EXACTLY as a Muslim would put it.
So Obama, is Jesus God or not?
“OBAMA: Right. Jesus is a historical figure for me, and hes also a bridge between God and man, in the Christian faith, and one that I think is powerful precisely because he serves as that means of us reaching something higher. And hes also a wonderful teacher. I think its important for all of us, of whatever faith, to have teachers in the flesh and also teachers in history.”
Wonder if he also ran for President once??? This is what’s known as the projection of a messianic complex, folks. And before you ask, yes I do have degrees in psychology...
“Wheres the barf alert???”
Sorry.
Based on his answers in that interview, I would not classify Obama as a Christian.
What is sin?
" being out of alignment with my values"
Where is that in a Christian Bible?
Jesus is a historical figure, in that he walked on the face of the earth and changed history. History existed before Christ , that was the BC period, and History after Christ is AD period. Only Christ to Christians did not die, defeated death.
Jesus was a teacher, a fisher of men, who taught us how to live, and how to be saved from sin.
Is he an Oprahite or an Obaman?
His answer to the question "who's Jesus to you?" does not support that premise. No Christian would answer the way he did. To a Christian Jesus is Lord and Savior, one with the Father and Holy Spirit. He is the Light of the world and the true Way. No, folks, Obama is no Christian. I'm not being judgemental, I'm just stating a fact.
“We”?
Does the author have a mouse in his pocket?
IMO, no Christian could ever sanction ramming scissors into the skull of a baby who's been tortuously twisted around into a breech birth to avoid the “moral dilemma” of whether it's actually been “born” or not. If the baby is about to be born anyway, why not just pull it out and let somebody who'll love it adopt it?
Are people who were naturally breech-birthed not humans because of that “technicality”?
No real Christian can sanction *anything* homosexual, either.
If he's a “real Christian”, I'm a Zoroastrian monk.
[And just for kicks, check out the "alternatives" offered by spellcheck when it encounters "Obama"]....:))
No interview was necessary to bring that to light. You are disqualified as a Christian at the moment you claim to be "pro-choice".
Obama: "Theres the belief, certainly in some quarters, that people havent embraced Jesus Christ as their personal savior that they're going to hell."GG: You dont believe that?
OBAMA: I find it hard to believe that my God would consign four-fifths of the world to hell. I cant imagine that my God would allow some little Hindu kid in India who never interacts with the Christian faith to somehow burn for all eternity. Thats just not part of my religious makeup.
How about those who've heard His message and turned their back on Him or deny that He is risen and not just some dead historical figure?
Thank you for posting that...when I read the transcript I had the EXACT same thought. Wants his "reward", not heaven, Sin is going against his own standard (not God's), etc. etc. Wow, I saw nothing in that transcript that would allow me to believe he is a Christian.
Aren’t Ayers, Wright, and Farrakahn historical figures? Wait what about Buchwheat and Snoopy?
That's right, "a historical figure... a teacher" but a Christian would say Jesus is God, the Son of God, God incarnate, and Jesus is my personal savior.
And how about sin is "being out of line with my values". A Christian would say sin is being out of line with God's values.
After reading that Odinga who Obama supported had actually signed agreements with Muslim leaders to implement Sharia and suppress Christianity, it's hard to believe Obama is not a closet muslim practicing Taquiyya to gain control over Christians.
The more they keep telling me that this is true and by the nonchalant manner in which they discuss this "obvious" detail, the more convinced I am that...
The pahker's muzzie!
OBAMA: Being out of alignment with my values.
"I, me, mine."
We don't get to determine what IS sinful. And we certainly don't get to redefine sin.
“Secular Humanist For Christ”... “Uh when it doesn’t conflict with my own values”
With my limited knowledge of theology, I would classify this as more Islamic than Christian. In the Christian faith, Jesus is not a bridge between God and man. Jesus is God incarnate as a man.
In Islam, Mohammed is not God incarnate, he is a bridge between God and man, a prophet.
