The Left's Big Blunder (Why the Polls Inflate Obama's Support)

Two campaigns are being waged right now for the presidency of the United States. No, I'm not talking about the Obama campaign and the McCain campaign. I'm talking about the real-world campaign and the meta-campaign.

The real-world campaign involves speeches and proposals and facts and scandals and political positions and news events. These details, however, are becoming increasingly irrelevant, and have become subsumed by the meta-campaign, which consists of perceptions, polls, reactions, analyses and summations. Until very recently, elections were decided by real-world facts -- but not anymore. Facts and events in and of themselves are no longer important; what's important is how everyone reacts to them. And how do we find out the public's mood concerning this or that incident? Why, the media tells us, that's how.

Or so we've been led to believe ...

McCain is going to win this thing and the aftermath will be ugly.

I hope. I am ready for war.

BTTT

I believe that a lot of this essay could be used to explain the state of the economy and the peoples confidence level in it.
(Political corruption aside)

It may even explain the behaviour of President Bush.

A nation full of dupes.

Clop, Clop, Clop!

I know a couple living in Maine who although they are dems are voting for Mc.

I also know a whole family of dems (married and all their kids also married) who are voting for Mc.

My nephew is voting for the first time this year. He told me yesterday he is voting for Sarah. He laughed because he was given a voter registration card by someone from ACORN.

I think the msm will scream about racism in America instead of the O being a socialist.

Did you see the video of McCain supporters being challenged by Obamabots in Denver the other day? They were referring to Obama and his supporters as "communists" and "socialists"; not a racial slur in the bunch. (One child said something about a monkey...please.) That won't matter to the enemedia...voting for McCain/Palin is racist...even when there isn't a shred of evidence to support their view.
