Obama's numbers in OH stink, and PA isn't much better. He's hurting in FL. McCain's putting on the pressure in NH, WI, MN, IA, CO, VA and rumor has it even MI again. And McCain/Palin are just now employing their ad blitz. Life is good, and barring a major October/November surprise the lightweight Marxist has been defeated.
But we still have plenty of work to do. There are a bunch of vulnerable freshmen Dem representatives in the House. The GOP has about 20 realistic pick-up opportunities. See my list below:
AL-05
AZ-05
CA-11
GA-08
IL-14
KS-02
KY-03
LA-06
MS-01
NH-01
NH-02
NY-20
PA-07
PA-08
PA-10
PA-11
TX-22
TX-23
WI-08
And my personal favorite! PA-12 (tough, but doable thanks to Murtha the Marine smearing racist)
Details on these races (website links, voting percentages, fundraising numbers, etc.) are here spread throughout this thread.
The current count is Dems 233, GOP 202. The Pubbies unfortunately do have to defend a lot of seats due to retirement. To retake the House they'd need to basically run the table on defending those seats and win about 16 of those above pick-up opportunities. Possible, but not likely. However, a solid McCain/Palin win in this anti-incumbent environment could provide enough of a push. And just cutting into the Dems' current 31-seat lead, after months of them gloating, will be very demoralizing.
If you've been thinking about donating your time and/or money, now's the time.
How do you know? And more importantly how would Tigger know, since he was the only one?!?
Okay, thanks.
"Folks, this presidential race is over! The lightweight Marxist has been defeated!!" |
Kanga was a serial killer.
It’s breaking your heart to see your Obamessiah crashing and burning, isn’t it? :-D
I feeeeel good!!! Thanks for the upbeat message!

Its breaking your heart to see your Obamessiah crashing and burning, isnt it? :-DMeanwhile, back in reality....
Hey, you're breaking new ground! I'm proud of you!!!
(((Here's a big hug)))
But I ask everyone on this thread to go to Real Clear Politics and on the map page, hit Create Your Own Map. You will be given today's polls on the states, and can then change each state's Red or Blue status to your heart's content.
Figure out which states we cannot afford to lose, and if you don't live in one, HELP THEM. Focus on the eastern time zones. If Obama gets momentum in an early return state, the media will do everything they can to destroy hopes of Republicans in later voting states.
Each one of us can do something. Phone calling, donations, anything.
I’m gonna bump this thread on Nov 5th, regardless of what happens. We’ll see who’s right.
Do you have an idea what early voting does?
I am thinking it may mean more votes for Obama, because some of his traditional voters sometimes forget to go to the polls or don’t go on election day because of weather or something better came up? Now they can go vote early and brag about it.
So I am not so sure early voting high #s are good for our side.
...actually I think it was Imus...
How do you know?
You're kidding, right?
I sit here with the RealClear Politics Create Your Own map and play. Adding something from the Rove map just gave me another tied outcome. If we did lose both PA and VA, if we somehow won MN (losing by the lowest %) we could pull off another tie situation 276 O 262 Mc. However, doesn't that just go to Pelosi to decide?
It was Roo all along.
