Put down our 15 year old Cocker a few years back. Was a very peaceful end.
Prayers for your neighbor and Shelby the pup.
GOD Bless your friend as she releases her beloved pet to run free and healthy with St Francis Assisi as she explores the wonders of heaven for all our loved animals...
Prayer bump
I’ll pray, yes. That’s so difficult.
Saying Prayers.
Prayers lifted for your neighbor and her friend.
Prayers for your friend and Shelby.
How well we know that situation and she certainly has our prayers, believe me. Gentle dogs who suffer in silence, who greet us with wagging tails who are there for us, who boost our spirits and even though this moment is a heartbreak there will be many good memories that Shelby created for her to remember and eventually be able to smile and also laugh at the memories.
My wife and I get pretty wrapped up in our pets, so I know the feeling. Prayers for anyone going through this.
Prayers to your friend freely given
I had to do the same thing with my brown lab this past summer. It was one of the hardest things I’ve done, but you should go with her and encourage her to be strong, and hold Shelby’s head in her hands since he may be frightened.
Then you can drive her home.
Done.
This is something that I’ve had to do too many times - it’s a sad, sad day. My heart goes out to her.
I’d recommend the book “Dog Heaven” for anyone that loses their pet. I’d gotten from a local library when my grandson’s dog had to be put down. I see it’s also available on the internet... one of the sites by just doing a search for the title is http://www.healingbaskets.com/prod_17100.htm
My heart goes out to her as well.
Oh, that’s so sad. Our neighbor just lost his dog over the weekend. It’s very hard.

Our prayers are with you, your friend and the pupster, Shelby.
My lovely Lola is now 13 yrs old, she has a little arthritis, gets the usual supplements and some meds for it. She also gets an almost weekly therapeutic massage by my friend, who is a massage therapist.
A few months ago I called my vet, who is wonderful, and asked her when the time comes if I need her to help to send Lola to heaven, would she come to the house? She said, “Of course, yes.” You can not imagine what a relief that was to know that.
To all pet owners out there. I almost had to put down my 17 yo cat, Kitty, due to arthritis and hip dysplasia. The "normal" vet route meds were no longer working and she could barely walk. I prayed to God that He take away her pain. Then I started praying that He take her as she sleeps so I wouldn't have to do it.
Did she miraculously recover? Nope. He guided me to look for a "cure". I found it.....Synflex. It saved my cats life. She's walking around with no pain or limp, and I only started it on 10/1/08. With time, she will only get better.
Sorry, I didn't want to "hijack" your thread, but it might help another pet owner save the life of their furry family member. My heart is breaking for your neighbor.I was almost in her position and that is not a place I EVER want to be.
