I wonder if this dynamic between Bolton and Powell has anything to do with this?

The same Powell that knew his deputy was the leak on Plame and allowed the Administration and Libby to take the hit. A disloyal individual, just like Obama.

I’m surprised it took so long.

My surprise was that he hadn’t endorsed him yet. I thought that had happened months ago.

In a racially blind world, Colin Powell’s career would have stopped at Lieutenant Colonel.

I am just happy that a good Republican endorsing Obama was able to let me see that this election has absolutely nothing to do with race. (Sarc.)

I am not surprised at this even a little. A black supporting a 6.25% black, 37.75% Luo, and 50% white is not a surprise as I was told anyone with a drop of black blood is black.

One good thing about this election we are seeing people out themselves. Powell testifies for Stevens as a character witness and Palin fought to end the good old boy system in Alaska. Look at Buckley’s son, Kathleen Parker, Peggy Noonan, George Will, the Fox All Stars, and others who were considered ‘conservative’ writers that now diss the McCain/Palin campaign. Some have even endorsed like Buckley.

The shake out in Conservative movement after this election is going to leave a lot of pundits with no support. Next goal should be to find conservatives to buy a Cable News Channel that is HONEST — Fox Fair and Balanced is a joke!

No surprise. I’m still trying to figure out what he is “troubled” about in the GOP. These people who cross over generally talk about how “troubled” they are without being able to give specifics. I chalk it up mainly to Powell being black and voting for the black guy, and score settling.

No surprise wholly racial motivated, I think that it might actually help McCain.

Nope. I never liked him, never trusted him and always thought he was a liberal wolf in sheep’s clothing. Now it’s out in the open and we can finally stop pretending that he’s ever been a Republican.

Maybe I didn't "know" Powell as well as other FReepers... I AM surprised by this.

I really thought Powell would put COUNTRY before race, but apparently NOT.

I've always thought of Colin as a Democrat.

Will those in the ethnic communities who praise Colin and proclaim the decision “color blind’ be as vocal when he comes out to advocate and support gay oral copulation?

This is what I’ve gathered by reading several threads damning Colin Powell for an endorsement that everyone claims they don’t care about anyway:

As a person of color, a vote for Barack Obama is racist because I just care that he’s black and nothing else (and hate white people and whose life accomplishments are purely an Affirmative Action joke.)

According to the MSM, if I *don’t* vote for Barack Obama, it must be because I’m racist and nothing else.

I think this is called a “no-win situation.”

And this will attract whom?! Blacks never did like Powell. They look at him as an “Oreo”. A slave to the man. “It’s not about race”?! This idiot has as little to say about WHY he endorses BO then anyone else you may confront that’s a BO fan. THEY DON’T F-ING KNOW!!

A coup d’état is taking place in our Republic and with our easily subverted, primitive election system there is little or nothing we can do to prevent it.
